Question What kind of hat do you like?

    Hi all,

Give me your opinion on these two hat styles. I have picked out a couple hats but I don't know if we should go with light or dark colors. I'll post replies to this message with the attachments.

Send a reply and tell me which one you like. The responses I get here will let me know what sort of hat I'll buy for the club members. And, if you think you'll get both, let me know that too. I just need rough percentages to know which one (or both) is more popular.

The logo will be embroidered with the words "ClassicZcars.com" on the back above the strap. You'll notice these pictures show a logo just sitting on the hat (not permanently attached) just for visual reference. There will NOT be a white border around the logo.

I like the dark one best. If they are in the $15 range, though, I'd buy one of each. I have a lot of hats, since I have a lot of (bare) head to protect...

I like both colors of hat. Hard to pick a preference. Depending on cost, I might buy both. Screen names on back would be cool. I'd pay extra for that if available.

Most important thing for me is that the logo on front be Embroidery and not a crummy decal or Iron-On thingy.

I guess I'm a girl. I just stopped wearing hats and have moved to visors. They are so much cooler--and cooler. If you wear them just right you can get your blonde hair to poof out of the front of them and droop over the front. WAY too stylish!

Light gets dirty and dark gets salt stains. But...having to choose, I prefer light.

I like your avator Stephen. Is it a sticker? What was its application?

Hello Mike, I prefer the look of the dark hat, but it would be nice for people if there was a choice of a dark and a light colored hat as you have shown. I would be up for the embroidered screenname on the back of the hat too. I can see how that would be a pain. Maybe not?

I'll be honest, I've got a fat head. No really. Most baseball hats don't fit size 8 hat size. I'll buy them, no matter which color or maybe all colors, if they're big enough. If they have that logo, AND the ClassicZCar.com name, so much the better.

By the way, The hat/shirt vendor at the MSA show uses the PERFECT hat to fit my fat head.

Zedrally... I dont get it... And im aussie...
I WOULD buy either one, but I dont have a credit card No etc.etc. You should get hats without the strap on the back, looks way better!
Yeh, visors are for girls and sk8ers(notice the spelling).

Or, Mike, if you could just sell the iron/sew on badges so we can put em on jackets/shirts/bags etc.

    Default Light Hat

Mike the light hat merges the emblem best into the overall look of the hat. (doesn't look like an add on)

    What happened to the T-Shirt.

I wear many more T-shirts than hats!

The light one. I'd like the dark one with matching (dark) stitching, like the seats in my Z.

A "JimmyCap"? I'd of thought they would've been called a "JohnsonCap".

Put me down for a dark one. I bought a light blue one from 2many I think it was the last one he had. I wear it all the time and it's getting tired. I was given a hat that looks like the vary same style you show here , and the cloth is 100% cotton sort of a twill. It is made by a co. called nissin . The reason I mention this is because it is the most comfortable hat of this type I have ever owned . Gary

Hi Marty, the hats will be embroidered. And, since I'm so anal about hats, you will get a good one. These hats will be purchased by me and then sold as a fund-raiser to keep the club going (similar to the CD).

The slogan will not be on the logo because the letters are too small for the machine. I already have "ClassicZcars.com" on the back across the arch of the rear opening. Do you think we should put "Pride, Performance, Preservation" somewhere else on the hat as well?

Does additional stitching = additional cost? I assume that would be logical.

IF I had to choose ( not that we have to), I'd prefer screen names to the "P/P/P". Just my individual opinion. Either way I will buy at least one, if not both.

    Old advertising slogan:
"If you want to get ahead, get a hat".

    Old graffiti:
"If you want to get a hat, get a head".

I'll buy either of them. I'm just going to take the emblems / logos off and stitch them onto my Pith Helmet

I prefer the light hat. And I already have one of the hats 2Many did a couple years back. (I wear it proudly to every car function)

I also agree that the addition of screen names on the back will be cool, if the additional cost is not too outrageous.

    Default Both

Dark is probably going to be more desirable to those choosing between the two, however, I will probably take both.

I'd have to say the Dark Hat, but when push comes to shove, I'd be happy with either

I like the dark hat the most. The lighter hat also looks good.

I would pick the black hat if I had to chose between the two. Eventually I would probably buy both.

For some reason I found myself reading alot of the responses here and realized that you can't please everyone all of the time!

Personally, as I am also folically challenged, I prefer a light hat which is cooler in the sun than a dark one. Is there a cost that has been determined? Please forgive me for skipping ahead to post after reading the 1st 2 pages of replies if this was already mentioned.

I wear hats a lot to Golf and just knock around in and plenty of T-Shirts as well. What's the deal with the shirts?

    Thanks,

    Todd

Here's another thought with regard to the "Should we put Pride Preservation and Performance on them somewhere?"

How about either "Enjoy the Ride" or "Built for the Human Race" or even the new "Shift" ?

    Hey, Mike -

I like the dark hat better, and would also pay a little extra for our screen names on the back. Not sure about the P/P/P thing, but I guess I'm not against it.

The hats SHOULD be available soon. We are in the last stages of designing them. Sorry it's been a long process but we want them perfect! I think we will be able to order them within two weeks and hopefully have them stocked by the end of September available for sale. You can send me any questions as I am taking care of most of this for Mike. Thanks!

The back of the hats will read "www.classicZcar.com." These will be nice looking hats and Mike has taken great care to make sure they represent the site well.

Yes, I should have the samples for Mike's final approval this weekend. If all goes well, we will have them available for sale by the end of the month. Hope that pleases everyone! It's been a long process but they are really going to be cool! We've put alot of time into them just to make them right. I think Mike will be adding something to the site so we can take orders soon. Thanks for checking up on it!

Hello everyone! I'd like to preface this post with a big 'shout-out' and thanks to the illustrious admin of this beloved site, without whom this discussion wouldn't even be possible. I think we should each take a few moments each day to turn our thoughts to the guy behind the curtain as they say, the one who makes it happen, the MAN WITH THE PLAN - of course I'm referring to Mike - the PHP wizard of classiczcars.com. Again thanks Mike for making this all happen for us members and the thousands of guests whose lives are geared up a notch each time they visit this place that some of us may even call home.

Just for grins, here's a pic of the original club hat. The emblem is silk-screened I think, with "PERFORMANCE, PRIDE, PRESERVATION" on the top part of the red strip and ""INTERNET 240Z CLUB WWW.240Z.ORG" along the bottom. It's been awhile since this was a 240Z club huh? The rear strap is velcro. This is mine in practically new condition. I don't remember ever wearing it.

Well personally I would prefer the dark color hat, more particularly navy blue, but black would work too. But in the end Visors are for girls! - and tennis players
MPERDUE - I remember those hats, and when this was a 240 club. It's expanded quite a bit since then. What are you're coordinates? East Texas?
MIKE - Great job with the site! It's been a few months since I was able to log on and check it out and MAN, you've been busy! It's gonna take me awhile to figure it all out! Thanks for all your hard work.

Any word on having our screen names applied to back?

Oh yea, that's a cool one. I never bought one of those hats. Wish I did. I have a mug and some other cool stuff. That stuff was for sale through a 3rd party and I put a lot of work into that whole thing. We had to close the thing because of a technicality related to the 240z used in our logos. Sucks doesn't it?!

Well, the stuff that place sold was pretty shoddy. I bought a tee shirt and a sticker. The sticker has been on my car for a year and is shot. As a matter of fact, I was telling myself that it's time to take a scraper blade to it today. Too bad, as I really loved that logo. The tee was thin material and didn't last too long either.

Looking forward to the classicZcars.com hat! and after that, the polo shirt (XXXL for me), the new sticker, the dash plaque (with engraved member number of course), the mechanics fender protectors, the machanix (brand) gloves, the emboidered car bag, the cooler, the can cooler and lastly...

Yea, one of my mugs is totally faded now. The t-shirt is also fading fast. Their printing techniques were kinda like iron-on quality.

The NEW hats are embroidered and I went through three companies to find the right one. I am pleased with the quality of these newest hats.

We are ALMOST to the point of making them for sale..... Within the next week or so.

Yup CoastGuardZ - if Dallas is considered East TX then that's where I am.

I'm also considering buying one of the new hats. It depends on how much the club logo interfere's with the Z logo I guess. I hate being a walking advertisement, except for things I really love, such as Z's and Datsuns (not so much this site in particular).
