    Default It hit the wall

There is scarcely anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse, and sell a little more cheaply.
The person who buys on price alone is this man's lawful prey.

I think there are some pictures of this beast floating around on the Georgia Datsun Lovers group on Facebook, as well.

I met Matt Isbell at The Mitty in 2011. I saw a racing trailer in the infield with a Datsun flag, so I had to wander over to see what was up. He sometimes shows up to Caffeine & Octane, too. I can't remember if he brought this Datsun to C&O. If he did, it's probably in my photo archives somewhere. He does own some wild machinery.

Is this a Georgia car? It seems like I've read Matt Isbell had something to do with this beauty.

Very impressive! However (just pointing out facts), my 280 can go 80 mph WITHOUT hitting a wall.
My last three sports cars while I still owned all three:

    2001 BMW Z3 Roadster 3.0i soft/hard top (sold)
    1966 Ford Mustang Coupe (sold)
    1978 Datsun 280Z (enjoying very much )

I wonder if a T/C rod failed. Can't think of any single bolt that would cause a crash. Or maybe the truth is that 650 HP in a 240Z is just a lot to handle.

heard an old racer say one time: "understeer - that's when the front end rubs the wall... oversteer - that's when the back end rubs the wall..."

always sux to hear of anyone damaging a cool car w/so much work into it, but i imagine that beast would really want to get sideways!!

That is my old race car. It had a turbo charged L28, making 330 RWHP when I had it, and that was a lot to handle. 650 HP in a 2100 lb car is just a beast.

Sorry, I guess it is the guy. Here's a link to page 1. http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/9935...ject-underway/

Wrong (I don't think that's the same car. Mikelly is in Virgina and used to have a small block chevy in his car. It had problems with excessive crankcase pressure and he decided to go with the LS engine. )

The Hit the Wall guy is in Georiga and started with an LS.

On chevy engines - kind of funny, but not unexpected, that the writer for Importtunner calls the LS engine a "big block".

Looks like they know each other though - Post 989 - http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/6325...roject/page-50
