Nope, some of us have to work.

I've got cable but no guide so if anyone has it and knows when it's playing again... you know the rest.

    cheers

    Default Zeds on history channel.

    Hey, thanks Nate,

I only caught around ten minutes of the show but what I saw was 240's going through their paces on an obstacle course and on the open road, followed by a couple of 260's doing the same thing. No sound on the T.V. just the picture.

I had to leave before the 260's finished their act.

At the time I was in the golf clubhouse and my team mate was calling me to get down to the 1st "T".

    Well, there ya go George,

You now have something to look forward to mate.

    RETIREMENT !!!!!!
(Best start planning for it NOW).

I'm sure Alan would dissapprove of this program as it's very U.S. Market-centric.

Robot voice:"I have already made my position quite clear with regard to this piece of audiovisual entertainment".

I think we did it to death ( and I made enough enemies ) last time we disgusted - er sorry - discussed it.

Wasn't the conclusion that it was an American production and therefore it would naturally reflect the American viewpoint?

I think its always a missed opportunity when they make these kinds of films. The researchers naturally refer to books and magazine articles, and you get the same stuff being repeated until it becomes truth. If anything, I would have thought that a film about Yukata Katayama and his life would have been just as valid. NHK in Japan did a similar film as part of their "Project X" series a few years ago, and to their credit they did at least bring a few more relevant people into the story. However - they still cocked it up by making lots of gaffes. Shame.

Nobody's immune. When I went to the "Sports Car Graffiti" event at Nissan's Ginza showrooms a couple of months ago, I saw that whoever had written out the show placards that accompanied some static displays had gone and copied the oft-repeated spelling mistakes that you see in many books and mag articles ( and on the web ). The worst was the wrong spelling of the name of "Kaishinsha" as "Kwaishinsha" - which you see EVERYWHERE. If Nissan can't even get it right themselves then what chance does anyone else stand?

Everybody's eyes have glazed over already and its time for my medication, straight-jacket and padded cell. So I'll stop.

Whether you approve or disapprove, it is on sale through 10/1 at $18.71. Wasn't yesterday. Their site is so slow it is physically painful, but it finally displayed.

Well, if the old US of A is in the Americas, then it wasn't on sale yesterday as far as I could tell. Ten to fifteen minutes to load their site wasn't conducive to me paying much attention, but I noticed it immediately today when I decided that I would probably buy one just to see what it was, even if I did have to go to lunch between page loads.

I'm sure somewhere in the world, today is yesterday, and probably tomorrow too - but that just makes my head hurt so I don't think about it .

The only people that equate ZX'z with Z's are people that own ZX's! As far as I am concerned, the last Z was the 1978. 79 to 84 ZX's are good parts donors for the earlier cars and the 300 and 350 don't really belong in a discussion of 'The Datsun Z'.

    Whew! Steven the purist! .

Ya know here in socal we get the opertunity to see a lot of Z's I see quite a few unloved 240's~280"s.

Even more unloved s130's and Z31's. BUT, there's the rare occurances where a perfect, well maintained, obviously doted-on 82 S130 pulls up next to me to give me the big "Nice Z!" Thumbs up. From that point on, that person is a Z driver, fan, and all around cool dude.

Z owenership is in the spirt, not the model.

except for the fugley S31's and Z32's and Z33's which only share the Z name for marketing (read $$$$) purposes. They do not fit into the spirit or design parameters of the original product.

So, should we equate Geo W, with Bill Clinton, and Ronald Reagan, and Jimmy Carter, and FDR, and James Garfield, and Geo. Washington?

Default As Carl says, BLAH !!!!!!

Whenever I go into a bookshop I check out the books on Classic Cars to see if anything new is to be found regarding the second love of my life-----the ZED Car.

Every book I have looked at , (so far), refers to the 280 as the car with which Nissan "Lost The Plot". It would appear that had Nissan simply updated and refined the 260 they would have retained more of their market.

As one book staes, "There is nothing essentially wrong with the 280ZX, provided you don't expect it to be a velour trimmed 240Z".

    Rick.
