I know that this site favors early Z's , but this clean converted 280 is getting crazy bids , is this a market indicator ? Datsun Z Series 2 Door Hatchback | eBay

No disagreement there. The Z you referenced is not a typical example of the "breed", however, and I don't feel that a value generalization can be made that would indicate a market trend. The Z in the ad has exceptional value added in parts and workmanship and the asking price indicates a not unreasonable value for that particular car.

^^^^ This one from the "breed" did not click one bid Datsun Z Series 240Z | eBay my case in point , seems that the market is temperamental . Both cars were at auction in similar times .

It hasn't sold yet so the car referenced is not an indicator of anything. Wait to see if the deal is actually completed after the auction ends. The bids might be from flaky buyers or shill bids from the seller and his buddies.

Jay Leno : You know one week after the Americans have walked on the moon, the Japanese introduced this sports car, and…if you’re a car guy pretty equal. I mean walking on the moon was pretty good, but how many times you’d gonna walk on the moon? But here was an affordable sports car that had real performance and looked like it cost a lot more than it did.
