Who knows the best clutch, PP, release, pilot

O.K. I am a little confussed and I am probably putting myself in that way for no good reason

So I am trying t o decide what clutch will fit my Z best
Now bear in Mind that I have a 1975 280Z that was supposed to have a L28 but now has a L24 . I also have a early five speed gearbox.
I do not have the Turbo flywheel .
So based on that anybody have any recomendations?

By the way, I really like ebay stuff, makes life relatively easy as I am in Grenada.
If anybody bought a clutch Kit on Ebay and you are pleased let me know.
But its hard to shop when I 'm not sure what I'm liiking for.
What information is more important the L24 or the gearbox or ____?

I am a fan of Daikin/Excedy clutches. I had one in my Z a long time ago, as well as some more recent non-zcars, and like the feel a lot.

Do not get a LUK self-adjusting-clutch. They are hard to modulate and generally just don't feel right

Victor, I've heard the same things about the Centerforce clutches however, I've been running a Centerforce II in my 240Z for nearly 5 years now and without any issues.......although I consider myself to be pretty easy on clutches (no holeshot start at least). I'll have to take a look at the Daikin units.

I've seen the Centerforce Dual Friction do major damage to the flywheel in a CA18DET, and the chatter was horrible.

My preference, especially for a street car, is a stiff pressure plate and a more stockish disk. I'm currently using the ACT pressure plate with a Paraut (Factory Nissan) clutch disk. This works well with my ~240 whp. For a stock Z a stock pressure plate works fine. I didn't have any problems with the stock unit until I started pushing ~200 whp.

I agree with 240ZX

I've heard the same negative comments about the CenterForce, but you couldn't prove it by me. I drove my parts car 2200 miles with a nearly-new CenterForce II clutch unit. Ease of use and performance was flawless. That same clutch assembly is going into my modified series 1 (under construction).

I also have a Centerforce II clutch. 35000 miles and no glitches.
