    Unhappy broken exhaust manifold bolts

i finally have time to work on my z and when i was taking off the exhaust manifold both end bolts broke off in the block. is this s common problem and does anybody have any suggestion to remove the old bolts. i can get some easy-outs from work, but other then that i have no clue?

Been covered a hundred times here. Soak in sili kroil, pb blaster, etc. and let sit for a day or two, then soak again and let sit for a day or two. After that, soak again and let sit for a day or two. Then use your easy outs or, if you have any bolt protruding from the head you can try to weld a nut to the top, apply some heat and try to back them out.

If all else fails, give the search a try.

Just to clarify, the busted bolts are in the head. The head is made of aluminum. That is why it is important to soak them good.

Good luck and don't be a stranger. ;-)
