Try doing an internet search for Monza or Pacesetter exhaust systems.
I'd like to replace the stock muffler with a over/under twin tip similar to the old Ansa design. Does anyone carry such a thing anymore ? If so, who ? If not, what other popular options are there ? I'd like a more aggressive sound and a better looking tip than the stock setup.
I'd also need to know what diameter the pipe leading into the stock muffler is so I can ensure I have the correct slip on tip.
Thanks for any help!

The stock exhaust I removed from my '73 was 1 3/4'' and I am fairly sure the '72 was the same size. GaryI'd also need to know what diameter the pipe leading into the stock muffler is so I can ensure I have the correct slip on tip.

The member Wingzro sells these tips, he might have what you're lookin' for.

Hi again,
Thanks for the help guys,
I'll check out the Monza and Pacesetter exhaust systems and see if anything looks good. I do like the classic over/under Ansa tip look, you'd think there would be knock offs of those readily available, but most anything I've found has the tip angle cut so the pipes would need to be side by side and not over/under. Anyhoo, I'll keep looking and let ya'll know what I settle on.

Well, I found what I wanted on the Black Dragon site, it part number 89-300
http://www.blackdragonauto.com/icata...ll.asp?page=67
Really all I want is the tip and Pace Setter won't sell it seperately, but they did say that it's part number 812222. The whole system is $300 including shipping, and that seems extreme when all I need is the tip. I've scoured the net and I can't seem to find anyone that even sells the complete 240Z kit other than BD.
Anyone have any ideas where I can buy just the tip ?

I don't believe Pace Setter/Monza sells that tip by itself anymore. If they ever did. I doesn't show on their site.

I've seen these tips at Pep Boys in the past. I also think J.C. Whitney and Jegs sells the tips.
Maybe you've seen something like it but not a twin over/under slash cut Monza tip by itself because they never made one from what I've seen.

I got the Black Dragon 89-300 Monza pipe and stuck the tip on today. It sounds good and throaty. The pipe they send is larger diameter than the stock one, so I had to wrap the stock pipe a bit to get the tip to fit. I'll put the new pipe on later when I can take it to a shop.

That's actually a system, not a tip. The rear section is designed to fit over the front section so naturally it would be larger than the stock pipe.

I know it's a "system", but the rear piece is basically two resonators stuffed into a muffler style enclosure, I call that the tip. The forward section of pipe with the small resonator is built the same as the stock pipe only larger in diameter. The whole system really boils down to 3 resonators and a slightly larger diameter pipe.

Fair enough but when I think of tips,
I think of something like these:

I know that you've found something already, but I thought I'd throw this out there. MSA sells Twice Pipes exhaust, which gives that classic stacked tip look. However it's not just the tips it's a whole system. Although it is cheaper than the PaceSetter you were discussing earlier. Check it out here 70-78 Twice Pipes Exhaust

Yeah, I saw that system. It's nice, but really I just wanted an easy clamp on tip to replace my old stock muffler for now and all of the dual tips like sblake01 posted are side-by-side and not over/under.
Here's the final result.....
