Talking I'm Bringing Back Tha Twin Stacks ^_^ !

    Yeah ! ! ! ! ^_^
They finally arrived and some photos are posted ! (A few of many).

Heres one of them and a "mock up" of a dual exhaust set up with a
    couple more.
    That chrome is SHINEY
Some of you may have seem pics in the classifieds but heres some
more once I got the use of this new camera down.
I've been waiting on these for months and glade to of got em' now.
I put one on Ruby already as a mock up since
a new 6-2 exhuast line is going on later, and all that was needed was a
10mm bolt and lock nut on it and it hung on the
stock mounting location like a glove ^_^

I think they came out great ^_^

More pics at this link below, multiple pics are different sizes
for better close up views on my photo bucket page.

    Default Ansa Roar

My first Z 1970 Orange/Black had this exhaust setup,I loved it! My neighbors hated it because I went to work early & came home late,Of course my motor was tricked out and I always drove balls out so the noise level was probably a bit excessive but in the early 80's their were a lot of Z fans so I made more friends than enemies and either way I didnt give a damn what they though I knew my 240Z was amazing! Enjoy your exhaust system!

Will you be selling these? Or are these just for you to let us know you have a sweet exhaust?

    I am interested in this.

Had to dig em outa the ground !
Some old guy had a stash of Chevy, Fiat and Datsun stuff hiden
    in his backyard, Jus kidding
But seriously lots and lots of hunting and pure blessings Bro.
I was shocked they were all in the 260Z / 280Z version at that, which
has the bigger inlet diameters over the same 240Z style which is MIA.

I would these would help those much needed points in the
Street Modified Class at the next Z car meet at
    Motor Sport Auto and such.
Not bad for 34 year old vintage ANSA's .

Yep I have a couple in the original wrapping for $250 each to first come
    first served buyers.
And after that whats left is going on ebay in a while on the
    open market.
The last time I sold a NOS one still in the wrapping it sold for $362 to
a pretty Cool Cat in Norway and he beat out 3 other dudes
    who were waring.

I do have a Paypal acount and can be reached at my Phone Number listed as
well in the Classified page for one of these ANSA, and that would be the
best way to get hold of me if anyone likes to talk in details bout having one.
    Or you can jus email

So far I'm getting alot of hot interest and compliments on these bueties,
I imagine once they go on Ebay they'll sell out fast.
Only like a single digit amount will be sold and thats with all my
contacts for these bieng tapped out.

And yes, I do have a select few already set aside for my
    dream builds

    Hello All,

I've had alot, I mean ALOT of interest in the ANSA Twin Stacks and
I just like to let every one who is interested know I'll be selling the
rest of the few I have left on EBAY.
Just search for ANSA and Datsun as your keywords sold by
my screen name there as GangLoadOParts with
    100% positive feed back ^_^.

I only have a very, very few left and since demand and interest obivously
out weighs supply I just thought it fair to let the interested
members know since I deleated the set price ads from the
classifieds here, craigslist and HybridZ if anyone thought I sold out by chance.

I'm also in the middle of doing a wirite up as well on the appearent
variations of the Twin Stacks which shoud be very interesting
    to some.
Lets just say theres at least 2 different types since these were all
hand made in Italy leading me to believe there may have been 2 different
versions that were made from seperate blueprints!

TTYL, Living the S30 ANSA life ^_^

    Talking

    Hello ALL HELLO ALL ^_^

    I have very good news!
Zedyone Kenobi was the member who recieved my last ANSA (TSSCT) I had to offer as of last month's time.

I am happy to say I was able to Restore 3 NOS ANSA's to the best of my abilities
back to near 100% mint stock perfect!
These are and still are NOS ASNA's and that needed correctional attention and love and
are now being offered in the classifieds to Classic Z Car members ONLY unitll
this weekend at a set price.
So please see the classifieds for the details as I was only able to do 3 of my last
    unwrapped NOS ones.

I am in the middle of restoring and fixing another Datsun Z specific ANSA witch I am now
happy to say I am halfway done with fixing, sice working on it for a year, and
just need to find one more piece to make complete !
It was trying to fix this one ANSA that led to what was needed to fix some of the
    other twin stacks ^_^.
More to come on the other Datsun specific ANSA with pics to follow, and that write up,
now I found my DIGI CAME again.

I know this belongs in the classifieds of course but thought I share the news as this took
some hard work to do and was just finished unexpectedly last night
Take care all you Z guys out there.

Got Dang Beutiful I hope thats your kitchen
Looks like one of Nissan's museums in there!

And thanks for the priase I pride myself on taking care of my fellow Z fans.
I should have anther Rare Z ANSA style in the mail Z soon on top of all
that but for stock 240Z inlet diameter, but Y-pipes can always be sliced.

Same as the one I'm restoring now on my Game Room display self but this
one came in the 2 inch inlet size stock for late 260Z and 280Z.
Only one of that type a ever found witch will be for show displayed only.
Reluctantly I doubt will ever be fired up

And here is the other side by side Datsun ANSA twin tip with factory
defect stickers and red tape ribbon removed.
I'm currently awaiting the schematics for proper emblem placement on the
chrome which must be spaced out and set at a certian point FYI.

How much for the side by side one? Also whats the size of inlet tube? Any pics of them installed on a Z? I have been looking for some pics of a Z with twin tips like that. I can't make up my mind on what exhaust to get.

The 5 side by side ANSA's I have coming are for stock 240Z and at least
early 260Z exhaust size so the inlet is 1 3/4 or 1 7/8ths, I forget which is the
correct one but all those years of Z's or the same size pipe so basically it will
    be a direct bolt on instalation for 1969 - 1974 S30Z's.
Price is $200 for those and they won't arrive for another 2 weeks and I will be
selling 3 out those 5 at least and maybe a fourth then keep one for me ^_^
No pics yet as I haven't really seen those on a Z yet to date.
Give me a call at 530-301-1562 as the best wya to reach me for dicussion.
I can take pre orders with deposite if you like to reserve one ahead of time
and the 3 twin stacks I can have mailed and arrive
    (hopefully weather permiting) by Christmas

Nope, Flag waving USA member my whole life, I just like the way the Europeans say 350Zed, or the Nissan 300ZedX. Its just a preference thing. Its the same as when the Alan Decadinah (sp) on speed vision say Porsche Nine One Seven...Zed just sounds better to my ears than ZEEEEEE

    Question

Does anyone know who makes Red tape ribbon or tape stripes that are
    resistant to exhaust heat?
I rathe not use paint and goes as close to factory as possible.
It's the last piece I need to finish restoring the side by side ANSA and the
ribbon is the part that seperates the black from the chrome.

    WingZrO,
I'll take a one set of the vertical twin tip/stacks. Please let me know how you want to be paid. I have a PayPal account. I've been counting my pennies and this is the first thing I've bought for my Z project in quite awhile, but could not pass up the deal.
    Thanks,
    Gary

I was hoping to get hold of you today Mike ^_^

Thats it all, out for now

Lets see, thats 1 to Canada and 2 to Washington state!
Off the top of my head that makes Washinton the state with the
most NOS ANSA's with at least 4 or 5

2 at least in Canada, 1 in Austrailia, 1 in New Zeland...
ohhh let me get my list out ^_^

I would've snapped one of those up a long time ago if I didn't have a full twice pipes setup on the floor in my living room. Those ANSA's are classy.

I'm with ya, bigoak.... Big difference although..... ShamWow comes in at the end and doubles the offer of deliverables if you act immediately..... (no malice intended, wing... actually I'm considering reaching for my wallet, but just can't quite do it.... I'm close, but just need that nudge to 'act now'.)

Have you noticed that he covers his mouth with the ShamWow when he says "and this lasts for 10 years!" It's clearly a voice over and I think it's shady that they cover his mouth when he says it. They might change it and not honor their "10 year" guarantee.

    Probably.

I'm sure many of you have seen that Rotisserie Oven infomercial (set it and forget it). My personal favorite. That one is LOADED with voice overs and changes.

I found this NOS ANSA center muffler on eBay last night, to go with the twin stacks I got from Wing recently. It will be a couple of months before I get it hooked up though.

    Very Welcome Br0
Acording to the tracking number info it was in town at least a
week ago, don't you just love international customs ?

Well acording to my records I have sold, all together now, about
    19 ANSA's around the world.
And by my best estimations there are another 12 to 16 + from another
stash that was found out there as wells, which is where I got my 1st ANSA
from which is the famous one we all know from this pic here

And actually the 1st one I ever opened when my eyes poped and
    my jaw drop ^_^
So altogeher there are about 40 to 50+ (60 at maybe most) known NOS
ANSA's out there in th e world today and I'm willing to bet half of those are
not even bolted up and still with they're new owners.

Of all the places I mailed to Japan is not one of them from me, then
again it is an Italian exhaust made in Itali ^_^, but Quezon City, Phillipines
    has at least one!

Yep thats the one you need Mike ^_^
    Remember, PICS AND SOUND CLIPS

Will work on 240Z and maybe early 260Z stock exhaust diameter.
It will be too small on late 260Z and 280Z as they used a slightly different
mid pipe but with the same bends and angles, (just a bigger pipe with
    stock 2 inch diameter).
Both are complet bolt on sets with a Header, down pipe, mid pipe (which is
what Mike B has found) and either a Twin Stack or dual tip side by side
resonator exhaust tip completing the set as the fourth piece.
So it's a 4 piece set listed in order from front to back.

Ok I live down here by Stephen and although I do not want to copy his car too much - I like his exhaust. My car just came Friday - an early 260 that is all original but not for too long.

What size are these Ansa's?? They are 1 into 2 are they not?

I am likely to go a mostly custom exhaust. Before now I was thinking Rebello 2.5 3 into 2 headers and a twice pipes style rear set up.

Because you dont see these cool ANSA's everyday I would like to have them but I dont know which muffler or resonator to use .

My only other idea would likely be a Borla 2.25 or 2.5. Would these tips work and sound "great, wonderful and delicious" without me having to re-work everything when I get there. I am sure with ENOUGH weld, cut and fab anything would go but I am trying to make it "more" direct fit.

    Thanks.

Well dont worry about offending me on getting the same exhaust... they sound amazing, and I love hearing my zed go up through the rpm band, and it decelerates awesome as well with a nice blurble...Sounds like a vintage 70's race car. I am running a resonator as well... so without it, I cannot imagine how loud it would be. But for now, its comfortable and I can have a conversation while driving, which is good enough!

    Ok, I found your post.
One has been sold and one left already so you know.

Exhaust inlet diameter is 2 inches and is a direct bolt on installation to the
stock hanger bracket lacations so no welding needed if going similar route
    with the piping locations.
Twice pipes will have to converge to a single pipe or (cringe) you can
slice off the Y-pipe on the ANSA and maybe get more power and a
    different sound out that case.
Other than that I'm no exhaust theory expert by far a chance, but I don't
see any problems with going from a 2.5 inch exhaust pipe to a 2 inch inlet
resonator as pros and cons have been argured both ways

But Zedy's set up speaks volume's for himself and my only advice is to
run atleast some type of glasspack or inline set up like him to keep the
ANSA from burning out prematurely and make it last longer.
Which is what the complet factory kit had any way on the mid pipe.
But as he said with out an inline then your going to most likely be
    way louder.

Don't get me wrong, Borla sounds nice but you just don't get that same
"vintage 70's race car" sound and I'm all about old school ova here.

Not sure if they're repackable or not but some of the older fellas in the club
may now more on that from experince.

    WingZr0,
What are the exterior dimensions of these tips. I am considering buying up some NEW ANSA tips in order to replicate this setup, but designed with the 2.5-3.0 in exhaust crowd in mind. Specifically, the length.

    Thanks,
Don't have one with me now but off top of my head demensions are
26 inches long overall, 2 inch inlet with two 1 inch outlet holes,
pipe diameter of the chrome section with the red tape ribbon back to
the y-pipe is about 2.5 inches.
I'll update the acuracy once I get home and measure.

The closet thing I could find in length, as I had the same idea as you, is
the Ferrari resonnator which last I checked where going in the $3,000 price
range but comes with half the entire exhaust pipe set up.
Bassicaly you'd be canibalizing an set up made for a specific car modle.

Pretty much anything else that was close to these are discountined and
the only two I got like what your describing are 2 seperate pipes with
2 inch inlets each with 1.5 inch outlets (I'll take photos of them for you all).
Execellent though for V8 and Skyline engine conversions!

Out of all the "unversal" ANSA's from the 70's to mid 80's these where the
best ones as for as looks and exhaust diameter size goes, now NLA though.
But if you've found a private stash then by all means brother go for it ^_^

I'll keep checking my references and research to make sure I'm not missing
    nothing though.

Yeh that''ll work, but one pipe is 1 3/4 inlet but two pipes will work though
    for what you need.
The other ones are sold out

This is the on I talked about before next to the super rare short nose
    twin stack ANSA for comparison.
The chrome on it is 1 inch shorter.

Glad you like, I just put it in the Classifieds ! ^_^

More pics of the Short Nose in comparison to a Long Nose twin stack ANSA.
Judging by the Yellow Farrari sticker it started off to be a Slant Nose but
some how ended up with a shortend lower pipe, munfacturing....

Either way in the last batch of ANSA's I got hold of all of them
were Long Noses except for this one and is also the only Short Nose I ever
came across or seen to date.
So it will most likely be a great addition to a car show only Z for
sure and / or a collectors item.
But hey if some one choses to run it they'll
get no complants from me on style points alone

I like the looks of the Ansa tip, but really prefer a single tip to the duals (either stacked or flat). So when I have my exhaust redone, I'm planning to use one (and only one) of these.

Made by Hedman, and available at places like Jegs and Summit. The single resonated tips are 2 1/2" outlets, and available in 2", 2 1/4" and 2 1/2" inlets. They have some nice dual resonated tips too, but only flat, not vertically stacked.

Sounds really nice, but I do not have a resonator if I remove my muffler.. so that would be noisy..
    Will go for a Monza....

Since I'm going to need a complete exhaust when I do it, I have considered the Monza. But I'm still not sold on the looks of the dual vertical tips on my car, and the yellow painted in the tips would look odd to me on my red car.

But yellow tips on a yellow car... that's nice!

Well, it's not Ansa, but check out what I found on a back shelf at one of the local muffler shops.

The inlet is a whopping 1 3/4", which just happens to be exactly the size of my car's piping. The chrome has a few scuffs here and there, and it needs some paint, but it will do, I'm sure. Considering how affordable it was, its flaws are minor.

Awesome find Arne! Acetone from a home supplie store will take the smudges off the chrome. Use soft shirt or sock and don't touch the sticker areas or the paint will come off on them. Use a Q-tip for the finer detailed areas near those stickers. That a Monza or Stebro?

It's a Monza, and it's been shoved around for so many years that the stickers are garbage, and have already been removed as I type this. Can't live with the yellow on my red car either, so some red paint will be in order.

Definitely designed as a replacement for the stock rear muffler, from the looks of it, and the pipe size. I've already done the test fitting, and it will be a piece of cake to install on my car, since the inlet size happens to match what's on the car.

Good man! IMO the stock hanger brackets hang too low sometimes on some Z.s, you may find the need to hang it higher up or closer to rear bumper if you like. Good thing you found your size and not the 280z's .

    Like this?

The rear hanger on the Monza is slotted so you can adjust how high it hangs.

While I, on the other hand, wasn't certain that I wanted twin tips. (Still not convinced, in fact. But it sure needed something, that ugly plain tip the PO had on it bothered me every time I looked at it. Worst part of the car. ) That was why I never popped for one of yours when they were available. But this Monza was so cheap I figured I couldn't lose. If I didn't like it, I figured I could probably eBay it and make money on it, even used.

I picked this Thrush Glasspack up at local Speed Shop as well a couple weeks ago, originally planing using it behind the catylitic converter in the trans tunnel. Just like this one in the link below it's 28 inches long with 2.25 inlet and outlet. Thrush Glasspack picture But now since I know it'll fit in the required space I'm thinking of using it as a tailpipe. Should I DO IT ! ? ~Z~

WingZr0 "Parts Hero" may have done it again ! Been searching for factory Ansa race stickers / decals for a year and a half since finding 2 ultra rare red shield logos in 7 and 7/8ths by 6 and 1/2 inches. These look great between the fender emblem and the side bumper strip, about a 2 inch gap to spare between the top and bottom of it. I was talking with member Dan S yesterday and he mentioned he saw one running around New York, making only 3 that I know in existance to date. Search a thread called 'Ansa Tips' and you'll see them. Well anyway just last night I got a lead to a also rare 2.75 inch size in Italy which may also have the bigger ones above. 2.75 inches is big enough for a nice little fender "arm" badge fitting between bumper strip to top of fender. Hopefully this will lead to another lead for more Twin Stacks. I'll feel I'm getting closer to the source, wish me luck ~Z~

I just finished building my FIRST ANSA Twin Stack Prototype yesterday ! . Built it for a fellow member. Took some liberty and made the inlet pipes longer for a more "Burblely" sound. Similar to what I've seen on the early 60's to 70's Ferrari's. Has the same Slash Cut Slant Chrome style as the Originals with a 2 inch diameter inlet. Could of made it a possible 5 inces for something stupid if I wanted too . And I used vintage Ansa parts! Will post some pics when I'm done painting it over the weekend and ad more details as well . ~Z~

Yeah I'm on the hunt too . But all of my leads for more since finding my last batch of 19 have not pand out. So for sure I'm making more, I have a set for myself already buffed, polished and restored ready to be assembled , and I have enough parts to make 30 to 35 more Twin Stacks. The "restrictiveness" of the originals some complain about have been solved since I can make the inlet diameter 1.75 inches for stock 240Z size up to 3.5 inches for higher horse power cars.

Outlet is noticeably bigger too at 1.5 inches for both upper and lower pipe. Pretty much used the blueprints I drew from the originals to get the exact look right (once mounted) and also make it flow better. Used stainless steel on the extended section for it's rust resistance, but I'll paint it Black to match rest of the pipe. Heres the catch though, it's more expensive to make than the originals. If you live in the 48 states it cost $400 shipped to your door to make. That includes all price of parts, paint, all polishing, assembly, correct placement of NOS shield logos since they're almost always slightly incorrect according to the blueprints or messed up, shipping and any restoration cost. The pics will always speak for themselves

I intentionally didn't make it a direct bolt on for 2 reasons. One, since on my Z the rear most hanger bracket hangs way to low in my opinion. I suggest removing that bracket having a muffler shop fab a new one, this way you can raise up the pipe and adjust the look further in, out or snug up against the lower rear valance as you like. And since the diameter of these pipes are a little bigger than the originals it will seem that much lower so you'll want that extra bit of clearance.

Secondly, and this is the main reason, to eliminate the over under routing of the exhaust which serves no intended purpose. The stock exhaust from the Nissan factory has the inlet hole on the top half of the muffler or above the centerline of the mufflers cross section. The original Ansa's where a over under to keep it a direct bolt on cause of where the exhaust line was located once the factory muffler was removed. Now with these the inlet is ON the center line of the Twin Stacks cross section. So when you remove the rear most hanger you can raise the TS (Twin Stack) just enough to where it virtually lines up and slips on the exhaust line eliminating the over under bend creating a straight line and a freer flowing exhaust. Thats how I designed the prototype. Also if your replacing the entire exhaust line I can make the inlet closer to the rear to eliminate that funky S Curve the exhaust takes once it clears the differential to mate with the stock muffler. Meaning you can creat a more direct route to the TS.

Lastly, whew this's alot of typing , I can make this in several different appearance styles. Reads like an options list . All Chrome look meaning no Red Ribbon or Red Ansa Shield logos, with or without Red Ribbon, with or without Red Shield logos, Gloss Black inner outlet paint or Flat Ansa Orange, Black painted extended "Ferrari style" Y-pipe section or I can leave that part Stainless Steel Silver which I admit is a pretty cool look . Just need to know the inlet size wanted and intended horsepower goals for those interested. Ok, I'll post pics when I can . ~Z~

Heh Andy, I can't thank you enough for that recommendation of that VHT Flameproof paint! Just painted the Stainless Steel section and that stuff goes on smooth. Layed the Ansa flat then hit with 2 light coats and waited a quick second, rolled it right side up and got all the top areas and waited another second, then rolled it over flat on the other side then hit that wit 2 light coats. Rolled it around to check for runs and spread the paint even, then went back to the previous side and repeated the process in reverse hitting it a little more heavier. The area being painted was over hanging off a small box BTW and everything else was masked off.

Also worth noting, you know how you supposed to turn on the paint first AND THEN glide over what your painting? Well towards the end I made the mistake of turning on the nosel directly over the Ansa and made a runny circle at point blank range. So waiting a second I quickly added a couple of blend coats that didn't do no good, the circle was still there. Any more paint would only add to the problem. So I stepped out in the sun and saw that it dries way faster AND the paint decided it was going to dry evenly anyway! I'll let the Black dry for the next 4 hours and add in the Orange and Red Ribbon Paint tomorrow. Awesome stuff Andy, Thanks
