Wink Going to the Zcar Nationals - May 4,5,6

UPDATED MONDAY 4-29 - Please open to read the posts.

    Hi all,

I'm about 90% sure that I will be going to the MSA show next weekend. But, I have to fly into LAX. I managed to get a free ticket by caching in some frequent flyer miles.

I'll probably fly in on Saturday so I can make the banquet that night. Or, I can fly in on Friday if there's something to do or people to hang out with.

Anyway, I'm sending this to you guys so I can hopefully get your help in a few different ways:

    1) CARAVAN from LAX. I could get a shuttle, but, it would be a hell of a lot more fun to meet with a few people at the airport and CARAVAN from the airport down to MSA. Let's make a fun trip out of this whole thing!!!

    2) Hangin buddies. I don't know anyone at the show and I really don't want to try to find people. Not to mention that there will be nothing for me to do on Saturday (daytime). So, anyone want to get together?

    3) Cruizin. I'm going to be cruizin the show and taking pictures of the awesome Z's. It would be nice to get together with a few of you at the show and either look at your cars, or, just cruize together.

    4) CD's. I will also try to get rid of the remaining Zcar Microfiche CD's at the show. So, they will be selling for a discounted rate.

Long story short... I'll be coming down there out of the blue. I'm not going to know anybody by face (just email and alias from this
club). I plan to stay at the Ramada, but, I haven't made reservations yet. (hopefully it won't be full)

If you're interested in the caravan, getting together, or just cruizin the show on Sunday, please hit your REPLY button and we can trade contact numbers.

We can make you an Honorary member of CCZCC, that way you can have a nametag laminated and people will think you know something. And also, you can hang with the 6 of us who are registered together inside the show--including at least three from here.

Check out the Extended Stay America in Orange. We are all driving down Saturday evening and staying there. The 'reccomended' hotel was full and ESA is only about a mile from the show. It was considerably cheaper too.

I'd pick you up at the airport, but my wife is coming(I suppose I am supposed to put a smiley here) and we just have not sprung for that lovely 2+2 yet!

I think for Saturday, the place to hang iwll be the autoX. It is sold out for driving but you know there wil be a TON of people there. Wish I could come down early. I think also there is a get-together at another shop near MSA. Check HYBRIDZ forums. Hey...You could rent a Hyandai or focus or something and convince MSA to let you X it. Then we could all get to drive it!

Serious about the honorary member thing. Let me know. ZVOITURE@AOL.COM

    What do you mean THINK!?

Crap, the hotel is full? What's the number to the Extended Stay America? I'll have to do that...

Not sure if I'll rent a car or not... but, if the hotel is that far away from the show, I'll have to drive something!!

Will do... Let me make arrangements for transporation first!
Is there someone in your club that could peddal me around?

Go Zracer and i will be heading up that way together in our Z's, let me talk to him and see if we could meet you at LAX. We both live in San Diego so it won't be a problem. Probably going to be up there Friday and Sunday but it may end up being all three. Let me know what day for sure your comming and at the very least we can meet.

I don't have a flight yet. I wanted to make sure that I had a place to stay before I got that going...

Thanks for the info. I'll let you know when I have solid plans.

    Default UPDATE

    Here's the updated info..

    1) Flight - I can show up at the Orange County Airport (SNA) which is a LOT closer than LAX. Will someone be able to pick me up or should I rent a car?

    2) Flight Time - I can show up at around 4:30pm or 8:30pm. What is a better time considering traffic and such?

    3) Hotel - I have made reservations at the Extended Stay American in Orange (same hotel as Zvoiture and the guys from the CCZCC). It's pretty close to the MSA Show. But, I've never been there.

I'm going to respond individually to you guys in separate messages from this one...

Yes, Steve, I am interested. I do plan on roaming around the show to meet people and take pictures, but, it would be nice to find a place that I can call home.

I also have reservations at the same hotel as you.

    Hey Dan,

I've decided to fly in to the Orange County Airport. From what I understand, it's closer to the show.

Will you guys still be interested in picking me up at THAT airport instead? Let me know.

Yeah, I figured you would be coming into Orange County Airport...that's where Southwest goes and usually has better rates.....The hotel should be prety easy to find from there...probably just get on 55 north and hit I-5 North to Katella DR....Speaking of the hotel...MSA informed me today the Ramada IS NOT FULL...got bunk info somewhere...Oh, well, I am staying put at ESA. 4:30 or 8:30? Tough call, traffic should not be to bad either way. Less at 8:30 for sure. I have an free ticket for the banquet if you are interested in a free dinner. Or oyou can have dinner with us...MAp it out on Yahoo maps...Keep in touch.

    Hiya Dan.

I'll be coming in Friday evening. I've paid to attend the 'kick off party' on Friday night (7pm), so, I'll take the earlier flight which gets in at around 4:30... I'll get back to you with the flight # and the specific time.

First things first... is that time OK with you?

Oh, I'll have a single piece of luggage and two boxes of CD's.

Ya, that was bunk info. But, it's cheaper to stay at the Extended Stay America anyway. I'll be there from Friday night to Monday afternoon.... I just hope the Extended Stay America isn't some crappy drug-infested stink-hole..

I just remebered that that i'm in school right now and will be in class Friday duh. However i get out at about 3pm, Orange county is about 1.5 hours from me with no traffic so that would get me there on time traffic permitting. I will try to get out of school early and leave straight from there. So if i get held up will this be ok, also do you have a cell phone so i can call you and give you a status check once you hit the ground (or i'll give you mine). I feel kinda dumb now because i totally forgot that i had class sorry. Bottom line i'm sure that i can make it and would like to meet up for the dinner.

    Here's my Cell number (541) 760-4185.

Let me confirm the flight. Because I'm sure it gets in around 4:30ish and I don't mind hanging around the airport.

I'd rather do this because I can't really justify renting a car if I'm not going to use it.

    Default Free exhibitor pass

I also wanted to mention this. I registered for the show as an exhibitor (registered Zcar). That means that I can get anyone (with a Z) into the show for free parking.

I bought the exhibitor pass because it was only $5 more than just a Tshirt. I figured I could give it to someone.

If anyone needs it, let me know.

    [m]

PS: This is limited to ONE Z.......

ESA is NOT the Hilton, but I have stayed in several and they have all been new and very clean and practically identical....Friday night at 4:30 huh? I thought Sat. Traffic will not be fun. Forget the I-5 part, just stay on 55 north to Katella or Collins. But if you are getting a ride, you won't have to worry about it.

Ya, that was the best flight. The next one comes in at 8:30 and I'd pretty much miss my window for the kick off party.

I want to get down there for as much as I can because I'd like to meet as many people that I can..

I don't really need to stay at the Hilton because I probably won't be in the room very much. That's the plan, anyway.
