I am in need of a pair of rubber seals . They are the rubber seal that wraps around the hinges on the rear hatch of a 240. I have tried the local dealer and midwestz . Help if you can or if you know of a place I could contact . I have a email into Charlie Osborne . .thanks

NO Bill not the glass rubber , the HINGE rubber seal, It's like a cup that completely covers the hinge up inside the roof.
There is a pair on ebay now.

Do you have a pic or diagram of what you are looking for?
I'm confused as to what seals you are refering to.
Killer . What I am talking about is the rubber seal that wraps around the hinge that keeps the water from entering the cup or space the hinge sets in the roof. It seals off the cavity. I dont have a dig. camera sorry . It fits over the hinge like a sock .They are made of rubber that is less than 1/16'' thick. gema I went to midwestz first thing as was in my first post here. But thanks any way. OZ man I'll take a look at e bay thanks. I have been looking I must have missed it.

the items on ebay were from seller rzola, and they were purchased on a buy it now almost as soon as they were listed, ( I was very tempted bby them) so you will need to check on completed items if you look now.
This will at least give you a picture of the items ( if rzola is OK about you using it).
hope it helps
Andrew
Beandip,
I think you are looking for 90410-E4101 and 90411-E4101, seal-cover hinge tailgate RH and LH. This is a truely NLA part to the best of my knowledge. Sorry I missed them on eBay as I would have snatched them up myself! Good Luck! I am looking for them myself!

I was hoping someone with an early car might chip in as I didn't know what cars they went on. I saw them before they were sold but was going to check if they were original on the early cars. They went on a buy it now about 10 minutes later![]()

Rats! I've been looking for those seals for over a year now. I refuse to remove them from my car until I have replacements, as I figure they'll not fare well if I do. I would like to remove them for painting in the future...
I usually watch rzola's auctions closely, but I missed that one. I would have grabbed them in a heartbeat.

Just curious what price they went for. They have been on my published wish list for a while. I should write Bob a snotty e-mail for not telling me about them.![]()
They should be (mine are like this) made of the same thin plastic that the fresh air intake ducts in the front fenders are made of. The plastic errodes, dries, and just crumbles in your hands. There is a metal facing plate that covers them like the facing metal on the early air intakes. The hatch hinges also have a shim for alignment 90407-E4100. Chloe wished me good luck many months ago, but she came up with those hatch vent ducts which I thought was a miracle. Keep looking and let me know if they can be found. Most cars I look at have them missing.

Hey All
Wonder if Mike at Banzai is reading this message board discussion and the cogs are turning over. Maybe if enough people line up for them it may be an option for a remake by Mike.
Wonder what Nissan did for the rebuild program several years ago?

I got an email from a guy that said the Isuzu Implse uses a hinge gasket that is vary close and will work. I have to find a dealer to call to see if they have any to look . He said that he thought '80---'83 . If any one checkes it out before I have a chance ,post it. I will just as soon as I can . Thanks Guys ,GaryUp date . They are from a '83 and are still available . I havent seen them in person but have ordered a set and they will be in on Friday the are just under $30.00 for the set. They come right and left . This is all I know , I have mine and one is intact with a little hole but the rubber is not too good. Good enough to be able to compare . I will let everyone know what I find out.

I received the ISUZU gaskets and they are about 1/3 the size of the Zs . Not even close. Back to the drawing board. I am going to try and repair mine and also make my own. I will post what comes of the latter option. Thanks to every one and if you come up with a sorce from a different breed of car that will work , pass on the info.![]()
I saw a pair on eBay just recently (like within the past 3 days or so). It was a new post at the time so I'm sure that they are still there.

maybe this one? not new but nice anwyay. I'm also looking for these
I try to keep up with all the new Zcar oriented e-bay listings, and I didn't see them. I would have snatched them up in a second, just like the last set went in a matter of minutes, apparently.

That's cool; I was just noting that I think they were the original ones in the thread. The price is the same, and it's Bob Zola's (rzola) auction.Originally posted by mperdue

Anyone else want to point this out?
Are they rubber or are they plastic? The ebay auction mentioned above refers to them as rubber in the title but they look plastic to me.
Mine seem to be hard which would indicate plastic. I suppose it could indicate extremely weathered rubber.

This is an old old thread . These have been NLA for a long long time . I was able to come accross a pair that are in decent shape and have installed them in my '73 . before I did though I sent them to a fellow member and he made some molds from them . He is looking into making them for sale. This was a few months ago and I havent seen anything of it . Gary

I know it was an old thread but it got me thinking about this part since I'll be going into paint soon and need it...I just did a parts search for those numbers at that site and got pricing info on it...from another thread where a member ordered an "NLA" NISMO strut tower got pricing and received his part recently, I'm hoping the online info is good, I'll verify with the site people next week...if not I'd be very interested in your friend's repo part...I'll let you know if my info is good...Originally Posted by beandip
word of caution on www.nismoparts.com; just because an item is listed on their site, doesn't mean the item is actually available. You'll find that out when you contact them.
Thanks...I hope that some of the parts I need are still available...it's odd that they would give a price for an item that's not available....it would be a waste of time for all involved...have you ordered parts from them before?Originally Posted by montoya_fan01
well, I think it's a waste of time too, but guess they don't mind. Yes I have ordered a few things from them. The parts that they supplied were good.
OK,well it's worth a phone call...Originally Posted by montoya_fan01

Anybody find these recently? It is my last item and impossible to find! Parts: 90410-E4101 and 90411-E4101
they were not available over 7 years ago. What makes you think you can buy some know? The best you can hope for is to find a set in a Z in a bone yard somewhere. I haven't seen a early Z in a wrecking yard in years. Good luck.

A guy here in Oz has reproduced these.
I actually own some but they are at my sons' house and I haven't seen them yet.
The Vendor has spent a LOT of time and effort to produce a quality item.
Anyone want further information![]()
I plan to extract mine out of Project 3/72 and clean them real good and reuse them. This is where water leaks in and causes the corner above the tail light on the corresponding side to rot out as well as anything else that got wet from water intrusion. If you seal them well you should have no problem.
"HAPPINESS"....isn't just around the corner......"HAPPINESS"....is the CORNER"

Nissanman,
Can you provide some dimensions for these? They look like they might be pretty easy to replicate using RTV.

Yes, I can do some measuring for you.
While I am not disputing what you suggest, bear in mind the guy who is producing these has spent a LOT of time perfecting the moulds and material.
If you can do it in RTV, good job, but I'm sure it won't be easy to produce a boot with the correct thickness and strength to handle the wear and tear of the hinge movement.
Nissanman are they for sale/available?
