Cool Dad
Nice Z too!
Just to introduce myself, I want to show you my car history below. I own a shop as a nighttime side business named Urban Legends Motorsport in Raleigh, NC, and have been modifying cars for quite some time. I have only gotten into older cars for my personal vehicles recently, and I really wanted a Z. I will keep you guys updated on the progress of the Z.
New Project (just purchased on 4/5): 1977 Datsun 280Z
Current Project: 1983 BMW 733i 5-Speed (My buddy is buying this off me in the next month)
Past Project: 2005 Dodge Neon SRT-4 (Bought for $2500 in terrible condition, performed full resto)
Past Project: 2005 Subaru Legacy GT (Stage 2.5, many mods):
Past Project: 1996 Honda Civic LX (D16Y8 Mini-me swap, Si Rear Brakes, light mods):
Past Project: 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse (100 Wet Shot Nitrous, Evo Brembos, heavily modified):
Still Current: Dad's 1994 Mazda RX-7 (Street Port, every Bolt-On):

There is scarcely anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse, and sell a little more cheaply.
The person who buys on price alone is this man's lawful prey.

Welcome to the classic Z community! Looks like you picked up a really nice car and will serve as a solid foundation for whatever you plan to do with it. Looks like you have mod'd a wide variety of cars, what are your plans for this one? We look forward to your updates.

I like your 280Z....it seems to be in very good condition. Nice RX too.

My plans with the 280 are already in the works. I have removed the front and rear bumpers and side moldings, will be install a urethane MSA air dam in the front, and 240 bumpers front and rear, fender mirrors, with a Fairlady replica spoiler. I have all new oem bushings going on, with McKinney coilovers i need to weld in, along with new ball joints and tie rod ends. My next big purchase will be the engine - I'm thinking the 280zx L28ET is the most logical and cheapest swap to do, and I would prefer not to drop a v8 of any sort in here. I've played around with the idea of an RB25, but not sure the budget will allow it, plus I would love to keep A/C here in NC.
