    Carl,

This is my favorite picture of Ol Yeller. Looking at your pictures, HLS20-96203 is a dead attachment. HLS20????

    Here is HLS30-00630, also.

"Are you saying that you have found 26 of the VZ's? Is that the half you have?" I have so much stuff here, Carl, that there are probably pictures of all 52 of them! As soon as the building boom in Florida slows down, I'll sort through all this and get something organized! Middle of May.

    Carl,
Looking at your pictures again, I am noticing discrepancies between what I have and what you have. The chassis number HLS30-05401 is listed as 05041. Also, why are you listing the chassis numbers as six digits? They are five digit serial numbers. Then, you have a red car listed as a serial number I have for another car altogether! Holy Smoke! We need to get together and compare notes!

I have a serious bunch of photographs of Vintage Zs for which I have no serial numbers yet. Working on it. One of the key cars missing is the first silver Vintage Z. Some of this info can be tracked down. We'll get there!
    Enjoy the Ride

From what I've read and seen the car is mainly housed there. It was mentioned that that car does travel around, at least it did at the begining of the the program. Probably for promotional and display purposes.

    Hi Vicky:
Oh come on Vicky....I love that picture ... has some human beings in
it.... that's what the Z Car is all about;-).

Most of the other pictures have only the cars in them... .because
they were taken from "For Sale" ad.'s....

Nonetheless, if you are not happy with the quality of the picture of
Scott and yourself...I'll check the club website... etc.

I'll let you know when I find something...

Great - I'll add 630 to the register just to account for it.. and post the picture.

No problem...I just wanted to assure that I was keeping my end up and keeping the public list of known VZ's up todate - so everyone would know whats been found and reported.

The building boom in Florida won't slow down for the next ten to twenty years. You might as well take some time off for "the ZDayZ" with me ..it would be good to get out and drive a 240-Z again.

The quality of the picture is fine, it's the people in it. I do believe they are in need of a "restoration" themselves . Chris has some great shots of that car on the suncoast z car clubs website or he might even have some of his own. If not, then when we get back from MSA I'll e-mail you a picture of the car.

    Hi Chris:
Well I guess the purpose of the public posting is working then - yes?

    >The chassis number HLS30-05401 is listed as 05041.

That is because the seller listed it wrong on ebay in his description. I have the picture of the door jam data tag... it is actually HLS30 05041. (you may correct your listing).

    >Also, why are you listing the chassis numbers as six digits? They are five digit serial
    >numbers.

"Why?"....I keep them all as six digit numbers in my files... so they sort correctly in my listings. They are six digit numbers for cars with VIN's above HLS30 10000.

I should have corrected them in the html format - after copy/paste from my complete listings.. to the published format on the web. I've corrected that now as well - thanks.

    >Then, you have a red car listed as a serial number I have for another car altogether!
I have three red cars listed.. #11553, #40904 and #68727.

    #11553 is Bob Berke's car..

#40904 was listed twice on ebay by Peak Nissan. They had the VIN listed wrong in their description the second time as HLS30 4904.. but the VZ Certificate shows HLS30 40904 (and the car is obviously not a Series I car)

#68727 was as I recall - pictures and VIN's I received from the seller. I do not have a picture of the door jam tag, nor VZ Certificate... I'll check my incoming e-mails again. What do you have for it?...

    >Holy Smoke! We need to get together and compare notes!

I thought we were... at least as far as the listings of "found" VZ's to-date...that was why I put them on-line - even with partial data .... just so that we all knew what had been reported to date.

Let me know what you have that doesn't agree.. and we'll work to reconcile the listings..

    kind regards,
    Carl

    Hi Kats (everyone):
Thanks for the lead... That car was reported as "Sold By" Universal City Nissan.

If you happen to meet any of the owners of the Vintage Z's in Japan, please get them to send me the full information related to their VZ's.. for the IZCC's Vintage Z Register.

I've up-dated the Vintage Z Register.. and associated Picture Page..

    Default Guam Z

    Hi Carl,

I post these red 240Z for HLS30-00630 located in Japan.I saw this car twice, this is very very clean. Not only clean the painting job is very nice.I know there are good vintage Zs and not so good vintages like some one said,I think this Z is very good vintage Z.I guess this car was on TV news in L.A. interviewed Pierre Z when the program was in progress.Auto garage Motoyama is selling 300 cars ( Ferrari ,Lambo,Porche, etc)and this Z have been priced $60,000 U.S. almost 7 years, but no one going to buy this car in Japan.Japanese people will pay 60,000 for Z432 not for 240Z.I am the only one will pay for 60,000 for HLS30 in Japan!

And when I visited Guam a few years ago,Guam Nissan displayed a gold #920 vintage Z in their show room.Exterior paint job was nice but exaust tubes got a lot of rust.Muffler and pipe finisher were OEM but not exactly correct period.I took pictures but I did not check the VIN number.I wonder it is still on sale or not.

Heck Gav, the hole site appears to be down. I've tried to access it from two different pc's via DSL (no time-outs) without success.

    HI Kats (everyone):
    THANKS... I've added HLS30 00630 to the Z Car Register along with HLS30 62850 {the VZ in Gaum}

    See:

    and

    Rob/Gav240Z:
I've found no problems accessing the site, nor viewing all the images. Are either or both of you on Verzion's DSL?? We have had problems reported with that service allowing access to the site. Can't explain it yet...

BTW - if you find a Z432 for sale, please let me know.

    kind regards,

    Hi Carl,
The image is on the site the problem exists with the code:
    HLS30 96203

you'll notice it's missing a close > on the img tag just before
    tag
that should fix the broken image problem.

No, I'm with SBC/Yahoo DSL. And so is the second PC I used to try to access zhome. I'm not using XP's firewall nor SBC's protection software, but instead I'm using Norton Internet Security's, and it isn't setup to block any specific sites at this time and it isn't listing zhome as a blocked site on it's own either.

    Weird.

I hope we can resolve this.

    Hi Gav:
    Gee...it's da ja vue all over again.... {seems I had that problem before!}

Anyway, funny it would display just fine on my computer/browser.. and not show up on yours. It was a coding errror, but I wonder why I/E on a Mac would be more forgiving...

    fixed it now anyway..
    thanks,
    Carl

    Hi Carl,

I am sure HLS30-00630 is 01/70 on the door jam tag.I saw it clearly.

    Hi Kats:
GREAT.. input! I've updated the Vintage Z Register and the Photo Album..
So that's 3 Vintage Z's in Japan and 1 in Gaum...

HLS30 03924 was originally sold at Performance Nissan..

Try adjusting your browser settings so they are more 'lax'...settings might be preventing the display of some objects....

    Hi
I wonder if anyone here has a link or possibly a saved file of the "240Z Restoration Program Quality Control Checklist”or "Restoration checklist" mentioned earlier in this uprooted thread! I have tried several searches and no luck.. I think this may be helpful in my long term rotisserie restoration! Any help would be much appreciated Thanks Rob

Sorry Big Sugar, I wish I had made a copy of mine, but it went with all the materials I had with the car when I sold it. As I recall, it wasn't that detailed in many areas. Hope someone can help you. You might try Jim Frederick in Lutz, Florida, if you can reach him. He probably owns more of the Vintage Program cars than anyone else.
