you can buy a mid condition one, then start restoration, 10 months probably is enough as well as 10K$
keep trying, cause we have to make our parents happy at least once
Hi guys,
My name is Declan, I've done a bit of posting on this forum over the past year but I thought it's time to introduce myself and let you all know why I'm here.
In 1972, my dad bought a Datsun 240k GT Hardtop brand new from Datsun (fully optioned) for the grand sum of $7845.
He wasn't overly into cars but knew a few bits and pieces and adapted a triple carb setup on it, put some jellybean wheels on it and lowered it a bit.
Ten years later he met my mother, they moved in together and decided to share a car so he sold his coupe.
To this day he regrets it and has always wanted another one, and so I decided that I'd buy one for him for his 60th birthday present which is next year.
I've been looking for a number of years and there's never been one in the condition that I'm after. I really want one like Shane's (Laggy6) however I think he got the last mint one possibly in the world!
I know all you blokes hold onto your coupes and they're extremely hard to come by, especially in good condition, but any help finding one would be really appreciated.
Thanks,
Declan.

the C110 240k is a not normal car
what about one from japan? i guess budget will be final factor
Wanted: Hardtop interior pieces
I'm on Yahoo Japan Auctions all the time but I really want to do the majority of work myself as I think it will make the gift more meaningful to him, also I don't want a KPGC110 replica, if anything I'll be doing a stock standard 240k GT replica (best case scenario is finding a genuine GT).
I reckon Japan is, with possibly competition from the US and Kuwait, the most expensive market for Kenmeri's...I guess the supply is higher though.
