Best moment ? Mmmm... I usually get comments or thumbs up wherever I go, that's pretty cool. Not much early Z car around here, mostly European vintage cars and American.
Mine was when I asked my wife to marry me 35 years ago.

Jay Leno : You know one week after the Americans have walked on the moon, the Japanese introduced this sports car, and…if you’re a car guy pretty equal. I mean walking on the moon was pretty good, but how many times you’d gonna walk on the moon? But here was an affordable sports car that had real performance and looked like it cost a lot more than it did.
Might be when I drove across four states at the drop of a hat to see my first girlfriend at her college in my orange 240Z back in the late 70s. Took her to a fast food place. Good times.
For me, the very first drive after completing the restoration / rebuild. Driving a classic Z after over 10 years was like going back to 1979 for me.
2nd place, (for humor), was when my car was parked next to a newish 350Z convertible. There were several of us standing around admiring both cars when an attractive, mid-20's woman walks-up and asks what kind of car my 240Z was and told us it was the "coolest car she'd ever seen". Keep in-mind that the youngest of us was 55 years old. The 350Z owner looked at me, patted my car and said "it really works!". I just busted up laughing...
Then there was the time I got pulled over by a sheriff because he just wanted to see my car! He walked-up and apologized for stopping me, but said he just bought a 280Z and wanted to look at my car...

Coolest moment---hearing our 240 run again after an 18 month rebuild, and like Julio, my wife and i were followed into a BP service station by a traffic patrol car. Two cops got out and said they just wanted to look at the car. One of them had owned a 240 many years previously.
Second best moment was out running a 72 240z and a 78 280z but here comes a big butt the 280z top end was 125mph. He had a 5 speed so he got on top end.

I've had alot of great memories, I drove it cross country twice (DC to Montana) and out to the Oregon coast twice. I had it for the seasons I worked in Glacier and Grand Teton NPs and my Dad just bought a BRZ, I hope to do a road trip with him through the Rockies in Colorado in the Z and his BRZ.

My best memory thus far is the very first one I had with her. Bought and drove her in the middle of the night from the hills of Tennessee to Illinois. Got lost in the backwoods when the gps said follow me. Exhaust and gasoline fumes kept me awake through the 10 hour drive; later found and fixed a fuel rail leak dripping over the exh mani heat shield. Good times.
Mine was driving my Z ('76 280. Bought it a month ago) to school on the last day and getting a thumbs up from a guy in a F430. That was great.

Mine was in 2007, driving my Z, 3,200miles from Eglin, Florida to Cold Lake, Alberta.

When I bought my 240Z in 1991 it had 71,000 miles on the odometer. On this trip, my odometer rolled through 142,000 miles, meaning I'd driven my Z more miles than all the other owners combined, making it truly mine.
June 1972 After getting the same $1000 down & 6 to 9 month wait from the 3 local dealers, I went to Stang Motors, spoke with the salesman, gave him $100, week later bought a white 72 240Z

My best moment in a Zed was at the Knox Mtn Hillclimb when I finished second in class in a car I rebuilt myself! My worst moment in a Zed was at the Knox Mtn Hillclimb when I rolled the car and wrote it off!
It was after no sleep for 3 days finishing the ground up restoration of my Bob Sharp Racing Widebody 240Z,you see I was late to ZCon 2010,and made it there morning of the Car Show on the grounds of Nissan National HQ. I had went all the way on my resto but cut it too tight to participate in opening ceremony.
Arriving late ZCon event organizers parked me out in the mud even though there was pretty of pavement available,I had missed the group picture that was schedules for 7:00 am that morning. As I was cleaning most of the mud off my tires a man with handle bar mustache (Dennis G) circled my Z about 3 times until he finally ask my about The Camel Street 240z.
I was a huge honor to represent the Z community,Connecticut Z Club & Georgia Z Club on My Classic Car!
In case you missed the show it was a 40th Anniversary to remember! 🐫Z Http://youtu.be/AAvvz4KovOw
