2009 Mid Ohio Vintage Grand Prix

I was at the 2009 Mid Ohio Vintage Grand Prix this year and I got to see a couple S30s on qualifying day. It looks like one didn't make it to race day, but the other, a

1970 Datsun 240Z (2.8L) took 4th (SVRA Group 8 )

I checked the results, the 4th place finisher was Fred Seitz, no disrespect to him but 14 seconds from 1st place. He's been racing that car for quite a few years, I used to autocross with him in the late 90's at Miller Park in Milwaukee. From a quick search of greyghost's gallery:


It's fairly safe to say if Gerry was there with his #3 BRE car he would have mopped up the field. Hopefully next year I'll be at that event, bittersweet though, I've been approved for SVRA group 6 (big bore group) as they didn't like the dry sump.

My club wanted to go so we could get some parade laps, but the event was the same weekend as the regional z show.
