Hey JPW -
That's a pretty nice looking ride. Bring it by the Z Club of Texas monthly meeting next week - July 17, in Addison and introduce yourself. Check us out on the web and Facebook (link at bottom of the home page): Z Club of Texas
Looking forward to meeting you.

Nice first Z.

The person who buys on price alone is this man's lawful prey.

Congrats JPW and welcome to the club! That is a great looking Z you have, especially for your first one. I see you are in Little Elm. The Dallas area has quite a number of classic Z car owners so lots of opportunities to network and make new friends. What is the story on your Z? Where did you find it? We love pictures so show us more!
08/1970 240z Series-1 #8011 - Silver, black int., 2.4L I-6, 5spd, 90% restored.
06/1973 VW Karmann Ghia - Black convertible, 4spd, 1600cc air-cooled engine.
11/2013 Scion FR-S - Silver, 6spd, a car with the soul of a Z for the modern times.

I really like that color also. Welcome
Very nice first Z, I really like the color and the front spook looks similar to the one on my 75.

75 280Z almost done
49 Chevy 3100 p/u next project
96 Dodge 2500 4X4 tows my 5th wheel
I'd love to, active duty USAF Recruiter duty hours don't permit too much free time for things like this though
Well, my dad has always been a Datsun/Nissan lover, I guess I just followed in his footsteps. He's owned almost every Z. He had a 240Z, 280Z, 280ZX, 300ZX and a 350Z. I always liked his 280Z the best, he never had a 260, so I set out to find one. I bought it off a guy advertising it in Paris TX for $9,500. He agreed to meet me halfway in Sherman, and took $6,500 for it.
I forgot to mention it has a 350 SBC V-8 and 5 speed manual with Edelbrock 650 Thunder carb, Weiand intake, Spectre filter Thrush glasspack and Turbo muffler. I also had a wideband gauge and O2 sensor installed. I got it tuned as good as I could, I do miss electronic fuel injection, calibration is a pain. I do manage to get about 16.5 mpg in the city, no idea what it gets on the highway, I am guessing around 19.5
Here are my air/fuel ratios +/- .1:
idle - 13.1 (spot on)
cruise - 13.9 (too rich)
partial - 14.6 (too lean)
WOT - 12.4 (spot on)
The cruise and partial throttle are backwards, don't have the necessary jets right now to correct it,
