That is a well documented restoration, WOW over 300 pics, and they depict only a thin slice of what went into that car. I can't imagine how many man hours and how much green it took to complete. Very impressive!
Check out this restoration of a Group B '84 Toyota Celica Turbo:

OK, How do you go from page 11, 12,13, 14, 15, 16, especially 17, to number 308!
That car is cleeeeeean.
There's no telling how much money and how many man hours went into this car. They basically built a very nice rally car out a pile of rusted-out scraps! I would have to say that this restoration probably cost close to $100k to complete.
Also, did you see the cars in the background in some of the pics? You're not talking about your typical Maaco shop here!

It looks like this restorer, MAKELA AUTO TUNING is based in Finland. They sure do some fine work with some incredible cars. If anyone ever gets an opportunity to go there, they should check this place out and let us all know about it (and be sure to take plenty of pics!)

Hi Steve:
I can assure you that starting with a car that was in relatively beautiful condition, you can spend close to $100,000.00 restoring an older competition car....Looking at the pictures of the work done just on the body of this Toyota - they spent closer to $1,000,000.00 or more by the time it was finished....
FWIW,
Carl B.
After looking through the three hundred plus pictures again I started hearing the voices of Wayne and Garth in the back of my mind saying....."we're not worthy".

Though living in Finland and knowing this company I did not know how
complete restoration they are doing. I have seen Juha Kankkunen racing many times and have had some words with him.
