Painted, non original parts, 700 miles? Hmmmm. You would think to market a car like that, you would perhaps vacuum it, take it off the trailer and take some meaningful pictures.

Looks like it belongs there.
Very nice. I agree, park a 240Z next to a 350Z and the 240 will draw a crowd that won't even notice the other Z netto it.
I had dgv's on my motor. The SU's were a big improvement.

Have you driven it?
$4k for a good running, rust free, fresh paint on a Z without any immediate needs is a bargain IMO.

It is always great to see a car "guy" that gets it. Not too low, or distracting add ons, wheels/tire combo look great... Very nice.

Cheering you on, this should be fun to watch. What are your plans in terms of cosmetic and mechanical restoration? Rattle can resto, concourse resto, driver resto?
One of the best looking Japanese production car to me was the early 90's Lexus SC400, with chin and rear spoiler. One of the best cars I've ever owned.

So sorry to hear, but glad nobody was hurt. The good thing about theses cars is they made a lot of them and parts aren't very expensive. It looks very fixable. A pain, but fixable.
Cool!
I cannot think of a more reliable 40 year old car, however it is just that, a 40 year old car.
Excellent job!
Wrecking yard?
The answer is a lot..........IF
IF this is for real
IF there is good documentation and lineage of ownership
IF they were stored properly
IF they are documented in the "found" condition
IF they...
Wow 800,000 yen....close to $10K
That is terrible. I do have to say that I'm quite confused by the information in your posts. Perhaps you can regroup and restate them. You should not be screwed by someone else's mistake. Don't...
I spent 3 months trying to get my 32/36's to run right and gave up. I bought a used set of SU's, read and watched all I could find and in short order they were dialed in.

Z boy. These SU carbs are pretty simple. You will likely need to richen your mixture. You can do that by turning the knob at the bottom of the carb clockwise (looking down on it). I would first...
Here are my thoughts.
I would pull the line going to the carb and have it flow into a white bowl. Feel free to just go grab one from the kitchen. Crank it over to see if you are getting flow...

The problem with buying a car that does not run is that you don't know what is wrong. There are a lot of costly systems in a car: brakes, steering, suspension, electrical, transmission,...
Fantastic! It is always fun to search and acquire a car. Happy hunting.
