Count me in.
We (me and the wife) just registered at the Hotel across from the events center for the the 2006 MSA event in Orange CA. It's at the end of April (fri. the 28 thru the 30th)
I'll be there with both harness's in hand for sale to the locals. (it might help pay for some of the trip) It's 1205 miles there, from my front door to the events in Orange.
We just wanted to know who all, from here, is going to be there?

I really wish I could go. But when you're seventeen and live in Washington, its hard to get there.
With a new baby on the way and a military move scheduled later this year, I must pass on the MSA nationals. Had planned to road trip from the east coast earlier this year, but life happens.

Well, the only thing that would prevent me from attending would be a dirt nap. Now showing up with my 240 is always dependant upon the weather!
If its a high probability of rain, like last year, the Z car stays in the garage! WE NO DRIVEY THE Z IN THE RAIN....period!!! I'll still be there, rain or shine. Hope to see some of you there. Also, I hope exhibit parking issues have gotten better....if you've been there done that, you know what I'm talking about. Show up way early, have made arrangements to park with a specific group, then have the folks directing the parking effort poo poo on it and stick you out in the friggin boonies!!! Very disappointing to say the least. I'm trying to be optimistic about it this year...we'll see.
Or better yet, Help me get the yellow Z street worthy and we'll both drive 240Z's down there. What do ya think?Originally Posted by JZM

This will be my first Z event. I picked up my Z late last year. I am looking forward to meeting other members of the club. I only have to come from Pomona, so it won't be a long drive. The Z hasn't been started in eight years, so I better get moving on getting it up and running.

Not going to be able to go this year. Depending on the date next year I might be able to work it in with a trip down to LA that I will have to make (son's graduation). Will be able to do one trip down next year, and might be able to extend it some. But won't be able to swing two trips, so if the date is too far from mid-May, next year is out too.
Dave, if you have the time on the way, you should stop for food or fuel in the Eugene area and maybe we could hook up for a short visit.

I'd be happy to meet at some easily freeway accessible spot, and would be happy to donate to the cause. Any volunteers? Send me a PM!

I'm going to order 2 shirts from Mike on the first week of April. Both me and the wife will have them slightly modified with our screen names on the back or something.
That way, when we're down in Orange, If you see some guy with a Nissan R/T (Racing Team) hat on and a good looking blonde both wearing Classiczcars shirts, It might be me and her.
I'm also going to try and bring some extra harness's to the event. It might help pay for the trip home or some parts from the swap meet. Me being like EVERY ONE else here, I gotta hell of a list of Iwants, Ineeds, and the gotta haves.
I swear, my whole life for the last week has been centered around the trip and everything associated with it.

Hey John, stop by on Sunday and say hi.
Driving up from San Diego...but my Zs are staying at home, will drive the G35 6MT instead. I know many guys from my club plan to be there. I love this show, will get there early. How about the garage sale on Saturday? I am thinking about driving up for it....but with gas prices what they are I am wondering if it is worth it. I believe I meet Ron last year at the display of the BRE cars; nice guy.
Me and Leah (70' 240Z) and JZM (90' 300ZXT) are leaving on WED. morning and taking a nice leisurely pace to get there. We'll hit Northern California by Wed. night and find a motel.Originally Posted by krispy_kgc10
It's over 1200 miles for us to get there and hopefully we'll have the new 5-speed in by then. I can't even imagine how much more I'll spend on gas if I don't have the 5-speed in by then.
Here's the short story....... found a 79'ZX 5-speed for $77 at the pull-a-part yard. pulled my tranni and installed the new one (w/ new clutch, T.O.B, pressure plate, and resurfaced flywheel..... NO CLUTCH release!
pulled it and swapped the short TOBearing sleeve for the longer ZX one, re-installed it. STILL NO Clutch engagement.
pulled it out again (3rd pull) and swapped the pressure plate for my old one, swapped back to the short TOB sleeve......IT WORKS.... but it slips real bad.
pulled it out for the last time (4th pull) (as far as I was concerned) and put in my old clutch plate then re-installed the tranni for the 4th time. NO SLIPPAGE!!! BUT....... now first and second gear are making a real bad noise..
Thats right, the new 5-speed has a bad main bearing and needs to be pulled (AGAIN!!!!!) and be rebuilt.
Soooo......
5-speed tranni and driveline for the 70'Z...........$77
gas to get wrong clutch ass. from a friend........$10
Lotion for my torn up back and hand cleaner.....$5
pissed off, stupid look on my face when JZM tell me that the tranni has to be pulled again and be rebuilt............................ Pricelesss
That's my week in a nut shell

Don't tell me stories like that! I'm swapping a four speed into my car (replacing the automatic) next Tuesday. Don't want to hear no "do it five times" horror stories.
It was all because the clutch was free and not double checked.
As for the tranni being bad, thats what you get for $77 now-a-days.
I got 2 weeks (as of today) to get it right. cross your fingers for me.
