I have purchased a few items that were priced fairly and shipped quickly.
Has anyone had any experience with Datsun Spirit in VA? They advertise some impressive motors and I'm curious if anyone has dealt with them on anything and what they thought of the experience and products.

Eiji is a very good friend of mine and is "honest as the day is long". He sells high performance goodies straight from Japan. His engines are beautiful and make big H.P. numbers. He sells an engine bolt kit that is well labeled and has every new cad plated external bolt needed for your rebuild. You can trust Eiji.

Eiji is also an active and respected member of the Z Car Club of Northern Virginia. Though I haven't purchased anything from him. I would if he had a part or service I needed.

If this is his web page - http://www.datsunspirit.com/index.html - you should let him know that it needs some serious work. It's all 404 errors and broken links. Maybe he has enough business that he doesn't really need it.
I have been considering getting my engine rebuilt just to freshen her up, and I have been considering only going with Rebello. But if Datsun Spirit does good builds, I can consider them as well. Any body hear of how their engines stack up? Again,I am looking for a mild rebuild, not a road racing scorching road terror

Most of the pages won't load (as Zed said), however, the one page of the website that seems to display refers to a mild upgrade/rebuild, just up the scale from overhaul and just under some serious power work-ups.
"Street 2.8liter setup is for an entry level enthusiasts, most ideal for those who want a bit more power than the stock engine, or who are in need of an engine overhaul, and want to upgrade a few things.
Nothing secret about this, this is basically a high-compression 2.8 liter setup with a street cam and valve train. L28 block (or overbore L24 block), L28 crankshaft, flat top pistons, slightly milled cylinder head with our street cam & valve train to give it a bit more punch. Perfect for daily driver, street/show car, auto X, light road racing.
Price range appx $2000- $3000"

Call him, he is good people.
His orange Z is phenominal. It certainly is a work of art.
Eiji has great sources and hard to find parts. Good guy to deal with in my experience. jlp

Have bought parts from Eiji. He is top notch to deal with, very honest and as everyone else has said, he is a great guy. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
I've had Eiji rebuild & tune my Solex carbs. Top notch. I'd echo what everyone else has said, but add that he's pretty well in touch with the folks in Japan who are posting big HP numbers with NA L-Series engines, and anyone looking to spend serious money on a motor would do well to have a conversation with him. His current white 240z 'daily driver' is incredibly impressive. Can't wait to see his blue 280z hit the road.
His website is being reworked.

Bought a pair of Datsun Competition Bucket Seats from Eiji, and his shipping was quick and packaged very well. No complaints here.

I have been working Eiji for a month now and he is building up my motor. I have never been more happy with an investment of money. Eiji has been top notch with communication, advice, and recommendation. He has been honest, and first and foremost, he seems to put quality first.
I plan an entire engine build thread to show what he has done and the decisions we had made. He has been right there with me the whole time.
I am very happy to write him a check.

I am considering an engine build with Datsun Spirit. How's your engine feel after a couple year's use
