If anyone else needs a partial set or individual insulators let me know, I have a few misc. insulators left.
Each 240z fuel and brake line insulator was reproduced in a urethane plastic on a milling machine, which made for a very high quality master insulator. Each insulator is then cast in a two part high quality silicone mold.
The insulators are cast in a urethane rubber with a shore hardness of 70A. The urethane has been degassed in a vacuum chamber, then cast and cured in a pressure pot for 24hrs. After curing for 24hrs the insulator have been heated to 150deg for 8 hrs for post-curing.
It takes two day to make one complete set of insulators.
70-72 has 15 large insulators, 6 brake line insulators and 4 flow guide valve insulators.
73 have 14 large insulators, 6 brake line insulators and 4 flow guide valve insulators.
Insulator sets are available in either the auto or manual transmission 240z.
The price for a complete set of insulators is $150.00 plus $6 shipping inside the usa, on a limited few sets, then Zeddsaver.com will be selling the sets via the website at a higher price.
Reproduced a steering rack expansion reservoir, in a beige color, for the 70 and early 71 240z with a 12mmx1.0 threads. This is a solid piece without a reservoir; this is for nostalgia look only. This was reproduced in a urethane resin that cures to a solid plastic with a shore hardness of 83D beige color.
Make sure you have the 12mmx1.0 opening on your steering racks since later models either have a 10mmx1.0 or no hole.
The Price is $14.00 plus $6 shipping inside the usa.
thanks Steve
If anyone else needs a partial set or individual insulators let me know, I have a few misc. insulators left.
The first run of ten complete sets of insulators are now sold out. Please send me a PM on availability and price.
Thx Steve
Hey Steve,
Did you happen to make or can you make the line insulator sets for the early series one cars without the evaporative emissions controls?
Thanks,
Eric
Another item reproduced, its the rear hatch stopper rubber insulator. This one was milled out of Delrin and cast into a 2 piece mold.
This is the correct replacement for your old worn out rubber. It even has the two little side parts that are on the original ones. The new ones come in a cream color and these are the correct black color.
These are not hand cut or drilled, these are from a two part mold just like all the other insulators.
Sorry just the rubber not the metal stopper.

Clarification on this part.
The original part numbers are:
76837-E4100 & 76838-E4100 WEATHERSTRIP-SIDE WI this type was longer, which was replaced with 76837-N3400 & 76838-N3400 WEATHERSTRIP-SIDE WI ( Shorter type, this is what I reproduced)
Then replaced with 76837-N4500 & 76838-N4500 WEATHERSTRIP-SIDE WI This is the newer type from nissan which covers the entire quarter window, with the screws.
This is the shorter type that also comes with a 1/4" filler piece that is glued in place, just like from the factory.
PM me if you have any questions.
Steve
76837-E4100 & 76838-E4100 WEATHERSTRIP-SIDE WI this type is longer, is now also available.
Same price, $16 plus shipping for a set of the right and left.
short type (76837-N3400 & 76838-N3400 WEATHERSTRIP-SIDE WI) and the longer type (76837-E4100 & 76838-E4100 WEATHERSTRIP-SIDE WI).
shorter version on bottom and longer version on top.
rubber on the upper quarter window.
More rubber parts are in the works..
Thanks for the parts! The best quality at a great price. You are making parts that are non existent. Thanks again Todd
It may be a good idea to make a variant of that bumper so that it stops the window higher. The top of the glass should just stop with the top edge of the squeegee so that it is held firmly at the top by Mr. fuzzy, Mr. squeegee and Mr. roller. This prevents rattling of the glass if it were wound down further.

Replace your cracked horn pad plastic insert with this reproduction of the original.
A high performance urethane with very high compressive strength and tensile strength. Shore D Hardness;
85.
Very easy to cut out your old cracked or broken insert and epoxy glue the new reproduction of the original back in.

nix240z very nice work, I am putting a shopping list together. You might want to look at the choke firewall grommet. I just priced one out at the local Nissan dealer and it was $116.00.
As well, I think the one for the earlier cars is different that the one that is being sold these days.
Steve,
That is a cool part. I worked up another repair for that but prefer your idea to mine.
Charles
Yes please... I need to come by anyway and check the progress. Is the suspension going in yet?
Charles
Another Item is the rubber coating on the wire harness bundle wraps that are predominately found in the engine bay. There is a total of 19 regular size and 2 of the wider type. These will be made to order only and could take up to 2 weeks, since these are very hard to reproduce.
At this time I am not making the main wiring harness type.

Steve,
So you are molding covers that go over the existing steel tabs. How tight are they? Do the tabs have to be really straight to get them back on. Is an adhesive required?
Charles
Nice clean restoration. Great work your doing and now I can understand way your making all the rubber parts. Icing on the cake, so to speak.

Steve,
Do you have any of these clear defroster wire boots available for sale, and the asking price, if so?
Also looking forward to the choke cable firewall grommets when have them in original, early
style.
Thanks for all of your efforts with these projects to re-create hard to find parts.

This is some fantastic work. Seriously impressive. I just sent you a PM to see if you have four insulators from the firewall... let me know if you didn't receive the message.
Thanks, Steve. They (the clear defroster wire boots) look good and definitely are very obvious, especially when burnt or discolored! Very nice work.
Dan
Steve, just as a point of interest, the brake booster insolator donut, as originally produced, I believe was made out of red rubber, on early cars anyway.
I am not 100% with this, but am pretty sure, and would welcome any more accurate info.

Right Dan,
I can attest to the early ones being in red rubber as well.
All of the early cars I have parted or purchased have had them---usually in very poor condition.
A red alternative would be a nice touch!

Steve, if you need an accurate color match, I may have an

Perfect timing Steve!
I'd been meaning to ask for this piece for a while and you've already done it!
The list of pieces on my order to you grows larger.
I've sent a PM to several members to drum up interest for the door latch rubber and wiper linkage boot reproductions I inquired about to you. (attached)
Please keep up the great work you are doing reproducing the bits and pieces that have no replacement part number or source!

Steve - any thoughts of making the speedo cable firewall grommet? It is another NLA, most replacement cables today do not come with one.
Thanks,
Jim

Jim I was just about to post this but you beat me to it!
I second the speedo cable grommet. They can't be purchased separately from anywhere I know of and the reproduction speedo cables don't come with it. The only problem I see it that the grommet would need to be sliced and glued back together once installed because the speedo cable can't be disassembled to slide it on.
Many great items from you Steve! Expect a long Christmas list shortly (but don't worry it doesn't have to be delivered by Christmas).

I'm pretty sure my speedo grommet is different. It looks like a standard grommet not extruded like that. I'll take a picture of my old speedo cable w/grommet when I get home.

+1 on the alternative shape. Mine went the way of rubber rot but I recall it was similar to other "flat" firewall grommets. Glad someone has one available for a photo! Machined up a early type original speedo cable grommet, just have to clean it up a little with some fine sanding. The previous picture I posted, of the speedo grommet is from a new Nissan cable that I purchased back in the early 90's.
I machined it with some meat in the center so it can be cut and then glued back in place. I Dont think it will stretch over the ends of the cable but I will try and do it.
The good thing about this grommet is that it will also be machined into the Radio antenna drain tube grommet in the left rear wheel well area.
should be done in about a week.

In less than a week we have the door lock mechanism small rubber reproductions.
Getting the main tumbler installed is a tight fit but it was done.
There have been threads about these rubber pieces missing and making the doors not close correctly.
90% of the time these pieces are missing or damaged on the door lock mechanism.

Hi Steve,
Grats with the website. Its nice an easy to navigate. Good job.
I cant browse the photo gallery because it doesnt like my Ipad browser. I get "Sorry, your browser is not supported" but that is probably your web provider not supporting Safari?

Steve,
I must commend you on producing these parts for the Z community. They look great.
I am interested in the rocker plugs. Just to be sure: are these to plug the hole in the upper part of the rocker, next to the Silver sill plate that says "Datsun" on it?
Marty
I have a complete set of Blemish (Blems) insulators with small imperfections for sale at $75 shipped. The imperfections will really not be seen once installed on the car. If anyone is interested send me a PM. I figured I would try them here first, before I put them up on the website for sale.

Steve,
Is this the grommet that protects the sending unit wire harness where it passes throught the rear deck floor? If so, I'll add it to my llist.

Speedometer cable grommet on firewall. Will need to be cut and glued back together, I machined so it has some meat in the center for easy gluing, plus hole in firewall will help hold it together. No other way around this, since ends of speedo cable are large and will not come off.
I will list on website when ready for purchase.

I need a set of seals for factory headlight covers. I can get a set of originals to copy.
STeve,
Do you have an illustration of where this handbrake dust boot is mounted? I couldn't find a part number or reference on my parts CD. On my last fun drive,
I did notice a cool breeze of air coming from the handbrake boot, but couldn't determine the source. This probably going to be added to my shopping list.

update on the firewall speedocable grommet. The grommet is done and I am testing the glue to hold it together after cutting. Regular superglue works fine, I have the grommet glued back together and under a stretch test of 150% of the cable size, to see if it comes apart. I have also ordered some loctite 406 which is made for rubber and high heat. Once I complete the tests I will report my findings.

What about the rubber boots that go around the light socket for the front blinder lights? Can those be reproduced? I love all the parts that are being reproduced and plan to buy some for my projects.
