whitehead performance in canada has the km/h speedometer for the latter 260/280 for 299.00 on the e-store under rare s30/240,260,280z parts.

Just checked online at whitehead performance. There e-store list the 240z km/h speedometer for 349.00,out of current stock.I would give them a call or e-mail them since they recently received a shipment of parts from Japan last month.Good luck

Yes, i know whithead performance has the 260 model in stock.
I prefer to have the one for the 240. But as you say i could email them and ask if there are something on its way in.
    Thanks for helping.

Yes i looked at that one. But i want the one that goes to 240km/h and the red mark starts at 190km/h. Found this one, owner says it from an 280z fairlady from japan. Anyone know if it will fit a 240z -73? Thinking about the electric.
Assume they are the same size? And in worst case i guess could just swap templets.

Wow are you racing or are speed limits high in Sweden?

Haha, just for looks. Speedlimits are almost the same as yours 120km/h on the highway.

I would be interested as well if we could find one
I think your best bet would be to find a speedometer in km/h in Europe.

One alternative that would be cool is to just replace the "front cover" where the numbers are from Mph to km/h. It should be a 10€ plastic sheet part.
You could also look for unworking speedometer to recycle the "front cover"

Lazeum: Ofcourse you could just switch the plastic front with the numbers. Thats what im going to do if i find just that pice. And i probobly have found it here in Europe. Waiting for pics.

I think they will fit but the wiring connector is different and the 280Z has the extra wiring for the brake switch warning light. The 240Km faces are really rare these days. Most 240Z's I have seen here come from the states and have the Miles faces. You will need to find a European or maybe Australian Z and those markets were small compared to the US.

Default Canadian 240km/hr Speedometer with Imperial Subscript

I just dug around (for a TB) and happened to find this one I bought ~ 2004 of Ebay Canada.

No red line to warn so I guess we fear speed less in Canada.

Nope our 240z came with mph speedos. We didn't switch to metric speeds until 1 July 1974.

People usually swap in 260z speedos if they want km/h

Blue: I use that metric overlay right now and it made me pass registration when the car came from the Us. So send my regards to your friend next time you see him.
I have now located three km/h speedos and one plate.
One from a 280z fairlady from Japan. In the USA. Price 220$.
One from a 240z in Holland. Price 200€.
And waiting for pics and price on the third one and on the plate alone. The last guy is from Italy and he also had alot of other rare parts like fairlady grille, comp steering wheel, headlight buckets and so on. I asked him to send some pics of what he got. So im quite exited : )

    Hi
I ended up buying the jdm km/h speedoplate.
I have desided that i should make some replicas of my speedoplate. Would you think there be some interest of these in the Us aswell?
They will be made in plastic (same plastic as a well known sportscar from Germany uses in the interior).
I have made a scan of the plate and some photoshopwork ( still some work left ).
Im going to make 2 kind of plates, Jdm (yellow/red markings)and Euro (all black). What would you guys think would be most wanted?
Here are some pics of original Jdm s30 speedoplate and first print on paper with jdm/euro plate./Andreas

If the fitting is good, I could also be interested.
Being part of French forum, where more and more Z are imported from the Z, I could foresee some interest.

    Looks great!
If you're going to sell some, you can put me on the list!

I've never disassembled the tacho. Do you believe there's a way to change the odometer also to fit kph instead of mph? have you seen how it works? Not a big issue but it could be very cool to get a 100% kph conversion.

Matt: I have made 70 plates, 30 Euro and 40 Jdm. Im going to sell these when they are ready. I have 1 small problem with testing. Its winter here and my car is in storage so i cant test it for real. I have a guy in France how is interested in these and i will send a plate to him so he can test it. Still have to solve the transperent plastic (brake light etc) and the pin for the needle to rest on. And some painting in holes. So there are some work left but it looks like its going to be a very good alternative to the paper/stickers.
I dont think you could make a mph gauge read km. You need to change the internal with a kph speedo. Correct me if im wrong.
I put you on the list./Andreas

Hi. Sorry for the time it has taken. My youngest daughter broke her right leg on ski holiday so everything else has been put in slowmotion mode. But now shes up walking again.
I will print the transparant plastic for the brake light next week (i found the right color i think) if i can get some free time in the machine.
Hope to have some plates ready in a couple of weeks.
