"hello jerry"... i definitely share the addiction. i think my wife is just glad that my mistress has wheels. looking for a clean early set of tail lights... and maybe..? hmmm. how can i help you recover..?
My wife finally dropped the hammer on my Z part obsession.I believe that the final straw was the two Z radios, a Series 1 auto scan AM and a Series 2 AM FM mono. They were not working but in great condition. I could not make myself throw them out so I sent them to be rebuilt by BC Electronics in PA.
My wife saw the bill when they came back from rebuild last week.
OUCH! I have been give an ultimatum to either sell my 72 FJ40 project or all of my extra Z parts.
I need to join to DPOA!![]()
Hello, my name is Jerry and I have an obsession with Datsun Z parts. I have not purchased or spent money on Z parts in 2 days. “Hello Jerry”.

Hello Jerry...this is as good a place as any for a group meeting. Most of the afflicted frequent these pages.
I too have a problem (but only in the eyes of others).
I only buy Z parts to better the ones I already have, then occasionally sell off the extras to make space for more inventory. Its been my experience that in most cases a profit can easily be made within a few years time, just by selling at the going prices. You already know this but just need to educate your wife in Zeeconomics. Good luck with that! Not much help huh!![]()

Listen to the wife. You don't need all those zparts.
Please sell them to us
I'll be at the meeting. I qualify because I have stuff stacked in a closet (non metal parts mice might be interested in) and on the back patio. That list ignores the parts car parked nearby. I would stash parts in trees if I thought I could get away with it (hmmm, maybe I can). To help with my cost of spare parts I used to buy at the JY but the parts car I eventually stumbled on was a real help on a cost per parts basis. I remember seeing an original radio laying on the floor of a JY 240Z but I didn't get it because I knew I wouldn't use it. Only part I ever passed up on I should have grabbed. I still have more parts than I will ever use. I could realize a profit if I wanted to sell them.
Hello, I am Mike I and I haven't looked on Craigslist for spare Z parts for at least 5 minutes.
And the group says: "Hello Mike!"

I'm in - I have started to category bins so I can try not to collect two of the same items because I forget that I had an extra one already after I have already bought it. I continually search ebay looking for any item that I may possibly need. Now I'm thinking about trying to find a good shell and start another one ..................I need help!
Life's a journey; enjoy the ride!

On behalf of those of us who buy and hoard parts for more than one classic car, I'd like to say....Hello, my name is Dennis and I have bins and shelves of parts for my '71 Z, my '70 Porsche, and my '63 Studebaker Avanti that I may never use, but were way to cool to pass up. I am powerless, but fortunately married to a licensed psychologist.
What time's tomorrow's meeting?

I don't have a problem with a Datsun parts addiction. I just do whatever the parts tell me to do. Which is typically something along the lines of "I'm lonely. Get me more friends"....

The interesting thing for me is that while my wife gets a little miffed at the parts purchases, she usually approves of the results when she sees the new parts on the cars.

Surely I'm not the "Jim" you refer to! Actually, all my parts are firmly in place and flying in close formation as pictured in my signature. My wife saw my growing list of replacement items (and the $ investment) and made it clear that overstocks were not going to be tolerated. My garage is only an oversized double and any extra stuff on the shelves would quickly be ratted out.

It feels good to know that I'm not the only one. I spent years buying parts for a 1969 240Z. Not that I had a '69 Z but because I planned to have one some day. I try to keep at least 2-3 of everything. You know...just in case. Oh, and I just bought a 1971 240Z parts car. Maybe I do need help.
