Brief history:
Originally purchased by first owner in 5/73 at McCrea Datsun in Eureka CA. Second owner purchased it in 1977, and has been in Dublin, CA until I bought it 2 months ago. The original motor (L24159443 - anyone have it?) was replaced about 80k miles ago, along with the transmission. It was stripped to bare metal, and got a fresh coat of paint (metallic green #113) in 1997.
Here are some photos from the day I picked it up:
In the last month, I've had a ton of work done at Sunrise - here's some before/after of part of the work:
I'm planning on picking up my car this afternoon, so I'll have more photos and updates soon.

I hope to see you out on the road.

Andy,
Thanks for sharing with us! I really like the old Datsun dealer plate frame. Look forward to seeing more progress on your car!

Hey, wait a second! Did you remove smog equipment? DMV may have something so say about that.

Looks great!
Awesome. I just picked up a 280z 2 months ago and I as well have the original harbor datsun plate frame. It's sweet and it does need to be restored. I just picked up an izumi wheel too. Where did you get yours from? What horn button did you use by the way, it looks legit. I have that logo in my custom shift knob. If you have IG follow me @oscarxacealloywheel
That's a nice looking Z . Love the color. Is the york A/C still working. Just removed mine last week. Keep the pictures coming.

Jay Leno : You know one week after the Americans have walked on the moon, the Japanese introduced this sports car, and…if you’re a car guy pretty equal. I mean walking on the moon was pretty good, but how many times you’d gonna walk on the moon? But here was an affordable sports car that had real performance and looked like it cost a lot more than it did.
Got my wheel locally from a guy selling it on eBay. The horn button was on eBay too - here's the ad.
I'll check out your IG pics! I'm not very active on there, so don't have any pictures of my car posted.
Thanks! I LOVE the #113 green! I get people asking me if it's the original color all the time - they don't believe me.
Nope - the AC doesn't work, but haven't tried fixing it yet. I probably won't, since I managed to get through some hot temps just fine with the window down.
The rear over rider on the 73 240z and the early model 260z should be the same. That doesn't look like the right one to me.
