Does the water in the rad bubble if you start the car cold with the rad cap off?
Pressure in the coolant system can only be caused by heat or head gasket leak.
Hello again, my 1980 280z has a burbling (slowish) noise coming from the overflow tank. the car runs fine and does not overheat, doesn't seem to be using water either, is this normal?
the oil is not grey or murky and radiator itself is full. im just wondering if there is a bit of air in the system?
any ideas would be appreciated.
thanks
Chris

There is scarcely anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse, and sell a little more cheaply.
The person who buys on price alone is this man's lawful prey.

Hi, no bubbles with cap off. Water level just slowly rises up and overflows out of radiator. It's got me scratchn my head. Cheers
Sounds like a head gasket on the way out to me.
Bugger! Cheers
CK overflow hose and fitting at rad for clog.
