Jay Leno : You know one week after the Americans have walked on the moon, the Japanese introduced this sports car, and…if you’re a car guy pretty equal. I mean walking on the moon was pretty good, but how many times you’d gonna walk on the moon? But here was an affordable sports car that had real performance and looked like it cost a lot more than it did.

Hmmm... the car is in Sarasota. I may give the guy a call. The photos look fantastic.
Compare this to a Ford GT40 replica. A Shelby Daytona replica. A Ferrari P4 replica. 100k isn't that far off.

Interesting to see opinions from the east and west US coast , one mentioning that the price tag is optimistic and one that isn't . Lots of good pictures and a very nice video on this RECREATION on a high dollar Italian Stallion . The description mentions that it has an automatic tranny and the pictures shows a manual, wonder what else this vendor has miss on the Ebay post.
I wouldn't be surprised if that was a faux gated shifter. The ad states it has a 700R4, and in the pics the shifter is shown in what would be the third gear gate. I would guess that the shifter moves back and forth in the 3rd and 4th gear gates as it shifts from Park to Drive. I don't see the park lock solenoid release button anywhere, though.

I am more on the 26th side. Real wire wheels, most of the details look original. of 38 million 100k is only .2% that seems pretty cheap for a decent looking replica

Thats a pretty sharp looking replica. $100,000 is not too bad IMHO. I would have expected the rubber around the rear hatch to be a better quality and fit though.
Is this not simply the glue-on/bolt-on fibreglass body panel kit that someone used to sell years ago? I think it was called 'Alpha GTO'? This car looks very much like that kit (i.e good, but just not quite right, so a little bit cartoon-ish).
If you read the text, you'll find the wheel base was extended 6". Not the simple bolt-on kit.

The ad also says it's titled as a '62 Ferrari with an AZ VIN. How do they do that?

How do you extend the wheelbase? You'd have to cut the car in half wouldn't you?
Here's one that's been stretched, SOLD 1979 Chopped and Stretched | Classifieds | ZTrix

Now that's a stretched wheel base! I can't see any sign of reinforcement of the chassis in the photos of the 250 replica. The engine bay looks rough, and the steering column appears to be rectangular! I would need a lot more info on how the work on the chassis was done. The interior looks well done though.
When did Ferrari start using Chevrolet engines in the 250s? For the price the seller wants, I'd expect some more appropriate to a 250 Ferrari than a Chevrolet engine.

Yeah I also was expecting at least a V12 engine from another brand with ITB's..
I remember on HybridZ forums there was a member who also did a replica, but that one seemed better in the details than this one, and it had the V12 BMW engine in it. I googled some and I believe it was this one

That looks like the VeloRossa spyder, with the flip-front. Or a customized late-model Corvette?
For the engine, I think a small displacement (2.6 Litre?) V-8 with downdraft carburettors (such as an old formula 2) would be better than a common engine.
I actually had a dream once where I met an old guy from Italy, who worked for a defunct post-war automaker who was able to build for me a 2.8 Litre V-12!
