All things being equal you can re-cable yours with bike brake cable for a bicycle built for two. Works stick, literally....
My 72 Z would not run at idle last Friday. I limped it home and watched my Z Therapy video. It refreshed my stale memory on the SU's. I found a couple of problems:The choke tube was sticking, lubed the linkage and took care of that.
Then I found that the choke cable had some issues.
I have a couple good used cables but while going to the work of changing them
I would rather install a new one. Anyone have any leads on a NOS choke cable assembly for a 7/72 production 72Z?
Thanks JLP

Bruce ,
Didn't ZTherapy recommend lawnmower cables instead of bicycles cable?

The quest is complete. I found a NOS assembly and it is on the way. Thanks for all who helped me out. JLP

So now that you've secured a new one, what are you going to do with the old one?

My NOS choke cables (correct with rubber boots) are on the way along with a NOS Air Cleaner, NOS Washer bottle, NOS Fuel rail, and NOS tire for my spare compartment.
Excited for having secured these rare parts.
