    Default Best springs?

Looking to upgrade my 76's 280z suspension, Ive found a good deal on illumina's but now I need some springs. All I've really found are springs that make the car visually appealing and arent really stiffer from stock. I was wondering if anyone knew of some good springs for an autox/timed lap day non daily driven car. Thanks.

I have Tokico Illumina gas adjustable shocks with Tockico springs. Let me tell you if you want a stiff ride these SOB's will deliver. HOWEVER, if you live in an area with some rough roads your gonna have some interesting times. I've heard some pretty good things about Eibach but I have no personal experiance with them. Hope that helps some,

Well, Eibach is without question a good springs company. I run'em on all four corners of my 240Z. The fronts are 200 lbs. and 275 lbs. rear. Yes, they are a bit stiff but, that's the price you pay for high performance cornering capability. Just remember, it's the correct combination of chassis components that make for a good set-up, not just a good set of springs. Contemplate the following.....bushings, springs, shocks, anti-roll bars, adjustable camber and caster plates, adjustable transverse arms, relocating the front pivot point, strut shortening, strut braces, alignment settings, light wheels, tires and tire compounds, rollcage, etc., etc..............

    PUSHER,

Where did you get a good deal on Illumina's and how much.

The average price I've seen on the internet is around $130.

Ebay, just illumina shocks is like 400 shipped. When you say 130 do you mean per shock? Or for a set of 2?

    That's per-shock.

exponential springs s00k anyways, Im in the middle of installing my shocks, but I broke off the top piece of the strut housing that holds the shock in, so I have no idea how I'm going to unscrew that piece.

We have Suspension Techniques lowering springs on our car. I believe around $250.00 for 4 spings 3 years ago. The struts are Tokico 5 way adjustables. Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings. That along with front and rear strut tower braces and the 1" heavy duty sway bars make for a nice, stiff, spine jarring ride.
