215 is WAAAY to narrow a tire for a 9.5" rim for a proper fit.
hi guys i have a question.
I want to order some wheels for my car and decided to buy the rbx.
I was thinking about 9,5j back -19 and 9j -13 front.
I have zg flares and there comes a airdam on it.
I ill lower the car in the future with custom coilovers.
The tires will become 215/40/17. Pulled to fit.
Is it possible to fit the -19 9,5 at the front to?
So that you get the same all around?
Or will this give problems with steering etc.?
thank you

well these are 235/50/15 on 9's and 10's

215 on a 9.5 is super stretched. I've seen 215's on a 9 but normally see 225 or 235 on a 9.5 and 10" wide rim. We're talking stretched tires here not normal fits.
The question about the -19 in the front, you might run into problems with the front valance panel turning the wheels. I'm not sure though

thx foor the answers.
The tires a gonna be stretched.
It is not 100% sure that i will become 215's.
but i really know that there gonnan be stretched a lot.
So -19 9,5 will give me problems with my valancen while turning.
Does 9j with -13 fit better than?
If you run 17x9.5 (-19) in the rear, AND you wanna lower the cr, you'll need to cut the Wheel wells and use the fender flares. Even with a severely stretched 215/50 tire, you will rub without cutting the wheel well.
You'll need to roll the fender lips and possibly have to cut some of the front fender to keep from rubbing or hitting when turning.
I just has 275/40ZR17's on 17x9.5 Rota RB's (-19) in the rear with Eibach Lowering springs on my 70'240Z and it rubs with ANY weight on the car.
17x8" -13 on the front with 245/45ZR17 on the front WILL rub the air Dam and fender with any turn. The fender needed to be rolled and the Air dam trimmed about 5" down from where it connects to the fender. (Xenon Urethane air dam)
If I were you, and wanted to lower the car with wide tires, I'd go with a ??? 235/45 or 40 on 17x9" -13 with minimal cutting, rolling and use of Fender flares. That's just off the top of my head and I could be way off but it sounds right.
Check this out when you get a chance, to show ya what putting wider tires and wheels on a lowered Z involves...

well i have decided to buy 9,5j -19 for the back. put 225/40 or 215/40 on it. the cut the inner and outer fender and use the flares.
I am going to use d2 racing coilovers from mazda
In the front there will be 9J -13 with 215/40. The fenders will also be cut out. In the front there will become a camber of 1 or 1,5.
I was arguing about the 9j width for the front but i have found out that the rota rbx was specially made for the 240/260z. So i guess it will be fine then whith the width
Wait you are going to run a 215 on a 9.5" wide rim...
really?
Why?

I guess he's trying to avoid the fenders. With that kinda inward taper, it'll miss the fender lip but it'll look funny, IMHO.

Those tires look like Toyo R888s, if those are Wats, and they are 9 & 9.5, then the offsets are -13 and -19.
Actually, the more I look at the image I don't think they are Watanabes...they don't have a stepped lip.

well i kinda like the drift/ stretched tyre look. but maybe the stretch will become less.
First i need the wheels. i found some in stock in the USA, but then i read about the rota fast forward wheels are coming october 2011 possibly so it made me doubt about the rbx wheels.
But i dont have confirmation.
